Mayor Baskar. 00:00:00
Councillor Travis Lopez. 00:00:01
Councillor Dean. 00:00:04
Councillor Fleming. 00:00:06
Councillor Ocampo here, Councillor Dean there, Councillor Partridge here, Councillor Romero here, Councillor Salome here. We have 00:00:07
a quorum. 00:00:12
We've got our fire department here. Why don't you guys need us? Off the States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, 00:00:18
one nation underground, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. 00:00:24
Mr. Mayor. 00:00:34
I move we approve the consent agenda for tonight's meeting second. 00:00:36
OK, second of discussion. 00:00:42
Arthur Yes. Next on the public forum Honor. 00:00:44
You're a celebrity now. You just ought to be. 00:00:49
Good for you there. 00:00:53
Just coming here to say. 00:00:54
Thank you for. 00:00:58
Letting us use the Plaza. 00:01:00
And giving us all the. 00:01:02
Swag stuff. 00:01:05
We had 185 people registered for the 5K. 00:01:07
But no in person. I'm sorry. 00:01:12
We raised about. 00:01:14
$4500 for the seat the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. 00:01:16
You're going to have to say more than that. 00:01:24
Come on, Mom, with what? 00:01:47
What's going on here? 00:01:49
Connor. 00:01:58
And I started it because I. 00:02:01
Really liked the idea of. 00:02:05
Doing a 5K for to like raise money. 00:02:08
For something and. 00:02:11
I just decided to do it for the. 00:02:14
Fibrosis Foundation. 00:02:16
The first five Ki did. 00:02:19
I only did it because there was cupcakes at the end. 00:02:22
So. 00:02:26
That's why for seven years, how much money are you raising? 00:02:30
This year we raised. 00:02:36
4500. 00:02:37
This well. 00:02:39
Last year. 00:02:42
About the same year. 00:02:44
Congratulations. 00:02:47
Well, great. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for doing this. 00:02:49
Alrighty, we've been thinking about archery. 00:02:57
Jill, then I. 00:03:00
Tell us a little bit about what we might be able to do. 00:03:03
At the Morodia ground. 00:03:06
OK. 00:03:15
Umm, this is our archery team. My name is Esperanza Lopez and I want them to introduce themselves. Matthew Lopez. 00:03:16
I'm Juan Fernandez. 00:03:26
I'm Jacob Andrew. 00:03:29
Our archery team In May we went to our state competition for 4H. 00:03:31
And we've been trying many, many years to win, And this year we did. 00:03:38
This year we did and that allows us to go to nationals. 00:03:49
However, Nationals comes with a lot of expenses. 00:03:54
So we're trying to raise money. 00:03:57
We've done a lot of like different things. We've done a raffle. 00:03:59
We've done. 00:04:05
The Donuts. We sold Donuts. 00:04:06
And we've gone around asking for sponsorships. 00:04:09
So we're just. 00:04:13
Trying to get to our goal of well. 00:04:14
Trying to raise as much as we possibly can to get there because it's very, very, very expensive. 00:04:18
Where is it going to be? 00:04:24
Oh, we're going to Grand Island, NE. 00:04:26
Yeah, we shoot for 40. 00:04:29
We shoot for four days. 00:04:32
We shoot FIDA which is targets at like different distances. 00:04:34
3D which is targets at unknown distances through a course and then field known distance 2D. 00:04:39
And we know the distance. 00:04:50
I'm pretty sure this is Socorro's first time sending an archery team to nationals. 00:04:53
So it's a really big accomplishment for us, especially those are. 00:04:58
Like our team has been trying for years and years, like I said, and I'll let them talk a little bit too. 00:05:03
So we need around. 00:05:12
$8500. 00:05:15
As our goal to go to the Nationals. 00:05:17
And, umm. 00:05:20
Yeah. 00:05:24
I'm the archery coach. 00:05:27
This is the first time that Sakura has made it to. 00:05:30
Won the state. 00:05:33
Archery contest. 00:05:35
They've been having archery and 4H. 00:05:38
For several years I probably took over. 00:05:42
Or really started helping about four or five years ago. 00:05:45
And that program is really blowing up. We started off with about. 00:05:48
Probably 7 or 8 kids and now I think we have like 43. 00:05:51
Our recurve team took second at state. 00:05:57
I coached from 10 year olds up. 00:06:01
And my little ones, they're all district champions, beating Cruces, all the South. 00:06:04
Southwest region of the of New Mexico. So we got a lot of good kids coming up. 00:06:10
And this program is really, really expanding and not only in archery, but the other shooting sports also, rifle, shotgun. 00:06:15
Also, we're probably going to start Pistol and it's just a good experience for these kids. 00:06:24
I'm trying to teach them responsibility and. 00:06:29
Of course. 00:06:34
Firearms or archery or anything else? 00:06:39
But it's a really good program for them and. 00:06:42
Councillor Campbell, you had a comment. 00:06:45
Yeah, I know a lot of the kids and obviously the people that run it, they're all great people, hard working folks. And when I 00:06:47
heard about it. 00:06:50
It's a really big deal. You guys have to stay over an hour away just from the venue. 00:06:54
Because everything is so packed there, yes, it made me think like what would it take to get something? Maybe not a national level 00:06:59
tournament, but something like that here. 00:07:03
You know what? What would it take to do all that? 00:07:08
That's kind of what we're working on also. 00:07:11
Making a 3D range, they have 3D shoots all over the state and I know like Silver City. 00:07:14
There were they have one fundraiser year and it's a big shoot. 00:07:20
And they have, they probably have probably about 300 shooters come in and they'll have. 00:07:25
Food trucks and. 00:07:30
That 4H club that makes all other. 00:07:32
All their annual money off that one shoe. 00:07:34
So these shoots can get very, very big. 00:07:37
You just gotta have the courses and the facilities to put one on. 00:07:42
I just want to commend Joey because he does that all on his own. Message himself. I want to do that. 00:07:48
Record For the record, just. 00:07:54
Joe Lopez. 00:07:56
I'm Joey, Yeah. 00:07:58
But he does that a lot of his own, just like the sporting, the shooting sports. 00:08:01
Richard Lopez does that. They're all volunteers. So I really want to come in because you guys, you do a good job with all the 00:08:07
kids. Thank you, man. Thank you. You know, we've already had a discussion about. 00:08:12
Wanting to put together a range, it would be archery. 00:08:17
Not shooting right now because out at the rodeo ground on the other side of the coyote fence that we've got. And I think if you 00:08:21
would help us put that together. 00:08:25
We'd like to do that and we'll already reached out for me. Yeah, so. 00:08:29
I have a son that does project management in Albuquerque for all these big companies and he's already. 00:08:33
Got stuff laid out if you want to do it in stages. I mean, he's, I think. I think we want to do that. The other thing we can do is 00:08:40
if you'll help us. 00:08:44
Advertised at Grand Island, NE. 00:08:50
We can help you with $1000 I think. 00:08:53
To help you be on your way and if you can get there, you're going to get, you've got some nice T-shirts. 00:08:56
But if you can get some with a score logo on it, you can. That would be, huh. Richard can help us, yeah. 00:09:01
We'd appreciate anything you'd give us. You know, we talked about a gun range also, but I think we have to have it in a separate 00:09:07
place. 00:09:10
Really can't have it out here, but. 00:09:13
We've discussed that with Richard and. 00:09:15
I think the archery. 00:09:17
And there's a lot of interest all around on this archery. I know, I know. 00:09:19
We sponsor even people from Alamo that do a lot of archery. So I think it would be a big draw. Yeah. And there's. 00:09:23
Like I talked to a lot of coaches from other counties and stuff and they have archery in the schools. 00:09:30
There's a lot more opportunity. 00:09:37
Back in the day, I used to shoot a lot, but there wasn't. 00:09:39
Much money and there wasn't much opportunity but but nowadays there is. You get archery in the schools and there's collegiate 00:09:42
scholarships or. 00:09:46
There's money, so we can help with that and if you write us a little letter requesting the funds. 00:09:51
And then it'll have to be for advertising. That's what we want to do for the city of Socorro. And that way if you if you are going 00:09:56
to have some. 00:09:59
Shirts made or if you're gonna have things done, you put that logo on there and we can give you a. 00:10:03
A camera ready logo that you can put on there, sure, and that'll give us reason to help if that's OK with the council. 00:10:08
I mean, just like we had with the wrestling, you know, it started very slow. I think it's something that really has grown and I 00:10:14
think these. 00:10:18
Niche sports are really important. I think they're really important. 00:10:22
Yeah. 00:10:27
And it just keeps getting bigger and bigger. I got a lot of, I got a lot of kids coming in from the Boys and Girls Club. 00:10:30
Well, work. Work with Mike, work with Mike Padilla and. 00:10:36
And see if we can get that arranged together and then then write a little letter of, you know, just requesting the funds. 00:10:39
And I think we'll be more than happy. And then make sure you let us know how you did. 00:10:46
And is it going to be on ESPN 2 like they do the ********? Are they going to have? 00:10:49
Our tree on I'm not sure. 00:10:53
Let us know if they if they do, let us know, OK? 00:10:55
Look forward to it. 00:10:59
Thank you for coming and. 00:11:00
Let yourself. Thank you. Thank you. Appreciate you guys. 00:11:02
OK anyone else on the public forum that has not been placed on the agenda? 00:11:10
All right, we're going to go. 00:11:16
Municipal judge. Compensation ordinance #25-05-27. 00:11:19
This is for publication. 00:11:25
I see the judge in the audience. 00:11:30
We want to make sure that we. 00:11:32
Recognize him. We need a motion to. 00:11:35
Up to publish it. I'll make that motion. 00:11:37
To move then seconded. 00:11:40
And so this is only for publication of the ordinance and. 00:11:42
Donald, you want to tell me the specifics of it? 00:11:46
You want to tell them the history of the judge since you wrote it. 00:11:53
It says it says where since December. 00:11:58
Good position, hasn't had a. 00:12:03
Increase in pay. 00:12:05
For over 21 years. 00:12:07
And. 00:12:09
I thought that it would be best if. 00:12:11
We can increase the pay compared to other judges or. 00:12:13
Excellent getting paid more than I am. 00:12:17
Or the position. 00:12:20
And then the next incoming judge that comes in. 00:12:23
Will have that pay, not necessarily for me. 00:12:26
But the whoever's reelected or. 00:12:30
Elected for that position. 00:12:32
So what's the? 00:12:34
The specific increase it we. 00:12:37
Brought it up to 42,000. It was 32,000 and if you break it down it's 1539 an hour and 32. 00:12:40
32,000. 00:12:47
So it's going to be 42,000. 00:12:49
Says up to 40. OK, so the motion would be to publish. 00:12:51
And you already? 00:12:55
Moved in, segregate. So all in favor, aye? 00:12:57
Now we have Chief Lawrence Baca. 00:13:04
Who This is EMS. We we're really proud of our firefighters. 00:13:06
Lawrence is going to give us some. 00:13:10
Background and help us to honor the fighters that we have in the city of Sakura. 00:13:12
And also EMS. 00:13:17
Workers, Yes, Yes, Sir. Thank you Mayor Council, for allowing us to do this tonight. 00:13:18
Basically I wanted to acknowledge my staff last week, as you guys know, it was EMS week. 00:13:23
But you know, we're not only a mess with firefighters as well. 00:13:29
But first, before I get started, I'd like to on behalf of myself and the firefighters. 00:13:32
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Councillor. 00:13:36
Dean and her family for their loss so. 00:13:38
OK, so with that being said, I just wanted to. 00:13:41
Acknowledge my staff for for such. 00:13:45
For all the great work and you know that they do each and every day, the hard work, the. 00:13:48
The sacrifices, the. 00:13:52
Just everything that they do behind the scenes that nobody sees. 00:13:55
I just wanted to let them know how much I appreciate them personally. 00:13:58
And I know you guys appreciate them because. 00:14:02
You guys support everything that we've been doing. 00:14:05
Over the last few years since I've taken over, you guys helped us. 00:14:08
Bring the pay to be competitive. 00:14:11
And all that other stuff and everything that we're trying to do. You've been supportive of that, Mayor, so we appreciate that. 00:14:14
So, but I just wanted to acknowledge them for all the hard work that they've done this last. 00:14:19
These last few few weeks, couple months has been been rough on these guys. We've had a we've been very busy. 00:14:24
And we've had some tough calls. 00:14:31
So with that being said, I just wanted to. 00:14:33
Let them know how much I appreciate them. 00:14:36
It's been an honor, it's been a privilege for me to to lead this group. 00:14:38
And with that being said. 00:14:42
Just you guys know in public. 00:14:44
You guys are in great hands. These guys do a wonderful job. Will you introduce us and. 00:14:46
And I'm gonna do 1 by 1 because I'm gonna present them with a coin. 00:14:51
We got challenge coins here and we, we, we started this a couple of years ago, one of the captains. 00:14:54
Thought would be a good idea to get these challenge points because it's a tradition in the fire service. 00:14:59
Where you know you get these challenge cleanse and you present them to individuals for their good work or if they do something 00:15:04
good within the department or whatever. 00:15:07
You you present them with 1 and I know that the captives and the officers. 00:15:11
Do that with the guys under them. So I wanted it to do to for all of them. 00:15:16
So I'm gonna call them up 1 by 1 and I'll introduce them and let you know. 00:15:20
You know what certification they have or whatnot. And one thing I'm proud of, and this is it's been a long time. 00:15:25
We're finally fully sort of not. 00:15:31
Fully certified but there's not a single non certified person on our staff right now so we're working. 00:15:34
To get along. 00:15:40
So with that being said, I'll start off with the younger guys first. I think our youngest guy is Jason Padilla. 00:15:43
Oh, Jason, Jason Denez, He's been here just, you know, not just a few months, not even here yet, but he's already gotten certified 00:15:50
as a basic EMT. 00:15:55
And he's on his way to get his fire, Fire 1, Fire 2 certifications and. 00:16:01
He's doing a great job, so I like to present him with a coin. 00:16:05
Jason. Jason. 00:16:13
Tomas Padilla, we stand up here so we can get a picture of, take a picture of her. 00:16:15
Tomas Padilla. 00:16:19
This guy, he's a he's foolish for the fight. 00:16:20
He's he's come in and done a great job getting certified pretty fast. He's fully certified. Fire 1, Fire 2, DMT intermediate. 00:16:24
So he's he's he's full goal and he's done a great job since he's been here and it's been an honor so. 00:16:31
The masterpiece. 00:16:36
Some of you guys, you guys probably don't know some of these guys. These two you probably do because they're locals. 00:16:45
This one is from Albuquerque. He's one that's come down here and. 00:16:51
And he's helped us around. He's doing a great job so and he's also a basic EMT and a Fire 1, Fire 2 certified. 00:16:54
So good job, Dave. 00:17:01
Let's go Michael Mikau Aragon. 00:17:07
Another one that's been with us just over a year, fully certified. Well, not fully certified. He's working on his intermediate 00:17:13
right now. 00:17:16
But fire 1, fire 2 certified EMT basic and he's doing a great job with us so. 00:17:21
Dustin Morgan. 00:17:28
He's also a local. Michael Dustin's also a local. 00:17:30
What's the morning? The Fire 1 Fire 2 Empty basic. 00:17:35
And again, he's only been here for just over a year, I believe. 00:17:38
Doing a great job. 00:17:42
Michael Padilla. 00:17:49
I thought the deal was it wasn't going to be with us full time, but he took over the recreation department. But he still helps us 00:17:52
out as as APRN. 00:17:56
He has an anti basic fire 1 fire team, so he does help us out a lot. He can, you know. 00:18:00
Was such a small group covering a big area as you guys all know what we're trying to do here. So he helps us out a lot. Thank you, 00:18:06
Michael. 00:18:10
Justin Pacheco. 00:18:17
These are another one of our out of towners, the Albuquerque guys that you come down here is actually bought a home down here, so 00:18:22
my mom's staying home so. 00:18:25
We don't look to lose them anytime soon, but also an anti basic working on his intermediate as we speak. Fire 1, Fire 2 certified 00:18:29
doing a great job. Thank you. 00:18:33
Uh, Leo Peterson. 00:18:41
Another local election. 00:18:43
He's from the top of the hills of Magnavox and they're going to hear another warrior. But. 00:18:45
He's a He's a fully certified Mt Intermediate R152 certified. 00:18:51
Doing a great job and appreciate everything. 00:18:55
Christiana Christiana was actually a full time texter. 00:19:01
And he came to me one day and thought he wanted to. 00:19:11
Change what he was doing, so he decided to come over and he's working. 00:19:14
He's doing great things with us. He's fully certified. He's not fully certified pretty quick. I think within eight or nine months 00:19:18
he was fully certified. 00:19:21
He came in as a basically where he had that under his belt. 00:19:25
But he's doing a great job and we really appreciate what he's doing. 00:19:28
The next one, the next one I'm going to introduce are my officers. I'll start off with the lieutenants. 00:19:35
I'll start off with my Matthew or. 00:19:40
Excuse me, Lieutenant Roger Hold. 00:19:46
He's been here for quite a few years. You've been here about 7 years. He's a Lieutenant now, fully certified. He's doing a great 00:19:48
job. He's one of our great leaders and. 00:19:52
I look to see him keep it up so. 00:19:57
Gable S Gable. 00:20:03
They were. He's also one of our. 00:20:07
Has been there for quite a few years. 00:20:09
I take quite a few years. We're actually pretty young. I mean, I think. 00:20:12
After myself, I think that's captain to check on everybody how many years you have here. 00:20:15
12 years so yeah, so. 00:20:20
We're actually fairly young James, one more lieutenants and he's doing a great job. Appreciate the game. 00:20:22
Jedi Angel. 00:20:32
Of the another thing that. 00:20:33
Well for quite a few years. Works hard, does a great job, appreciate everything he does. 00:20:37
Thank you, Sir. 00:20:43
Next year, your captains. I'll start off with the. 00:20:48
When I say the youngest captain, it's not really the youngest, but he's. 00:20:52
Dustin Aldridge. 00:20:57
Western Building department for quite some time or. 00:21:01
He's a great job, very knowledgeable and you know, these captains, they do a lot. They're very, they're responsible for a lot of 00:21:04
things. He's, he's actually my. 00:21:08
My fleet mechanic, whatever you want to call it, in charge of all the. 00:21:11
For the equipment, make sure it's all running up, you know, going where it's supposed to. 00:21:16
He does a great job for me when it comes to all that stuff is. 00:21:21
He's very knowledgeable, but. 00:21:24
He also instructs him when he teaches fire supplier classes, CPR classes. 00:21:25
And all that stuff. So he's very. 00:21:31
Is a great big asset to the department. We appreciate that. So thank you. 00:21:32
Captain Berto Lucero. 00:21:39
Captain Sales done with us for a while. 00:21:45
He's my EMS captain. He's in charge of all the EMS. 00:21:49
Supplies, training, all that stuff that has to do with the ambassador to the big job. With that, he runs his own little EMS 00:21:53
budget, so he does a good job of that. I appreciate everything he does. Also CPR instructor, so if anybody needs CPR classes, we 00:21:58
got a couple of instructors so. 00:22:02
Thank you Umberto. 00:22:08
And last but not least, he's my senior captain. He's got the title of senior captain because he's been along this but. 00:22:13
Senior captain Daniel Pacheco, again, very knowledgeable. He's my fire. 00:22:21
Fire guy, He's in charge of all the fire training. 00:22:25
Fire equipment, all that kind of stuff, so. 00:22:28
He does a good job with that. Also a good instructor, a lead instructor up at the Academy. 00:22:30
When they need them, he goes and teaches classes. 00:22:36
So we got a lot of military and, you know, these guys do a great job and. 00:22:39
Make sure these guys are well trained. You guys passed by the station. 00:22:43
Every day. And you guys probably see him out there, you know, sweating. 00:22:47
Working hard, you know these guys do a great job of keeping these guys in line, making sure they stay in shape. 00:22:50
You know, train and do the things that they need to do to stay. 00:22:55
Stay ready for those calls. 00:22:58
Captain, check. Appreciate you. 00:23:00
We had a, we had a couple of people, well actually one night. 00:23:05
We have only female in the department. She wasn't able to get be here because she does all. 00:23:10
A death in the family, so she wasn't able to be here. But I appreciate asking for what she does. So thank you, Ashley. 00:23:15
But again, Council, thank you guys. Like I said, I brag about my department all the time. They do a great job. 00:23:23
They make my job a lot easier. 00:23:30
They stay on top of it. Leadership is what counts. You know, I'm only as good as they. 00:23:32
Make me so. 00:23:38
Chief, let's huddle up and take a picture. Come on up. And then I think the council's got a lot of nice things to say. 00:23:39
Like, come on up and let's get it. 00:23:45
OK, that's good luck. Come on. ****. 00:23:53
We don't. We don't get to do this very often. 00:23:57
Thank you, gentlemen. Thank you guys. Have a good evening. 00:24:25
Let me, let me have that. 00:24:31
Let me have the Council say some words for you for and. 00:24:33
We'll wrap it up, but. 00:24:36
Thank you. 00:24:39
Oh, appreciate you. 00:24:43
Thank you. 00:24:46
Thank you for your service. 00:24:47
Mr. Fleming. 00:24:50
Thank you, masterminds Chief. 00:24:51
I left one meeting about an hour and a half ago. 00:24:55
And the young lady in charge of that my her name is Veronica Pound. 00:24:59
You may know who she is. 00:25:05
He refers to all our wonderful gentlemen you just introduced. 00:25:08
As her boys. 00:25:13
And she always refers to him in all the hospital board meetings. 00:25:16
And she says without my boys we could not exist. So congratulations. 00:25:21
Chief, we've had a long list of chiefs. 00:25:34
And starting filming Toyota. 00:25:37
Heartburn Center. 00:25:39
And Joe Gonzalez yourself? 00:25:41
The program has just improved just tremendously. 00:25:45
I think, and I don't want to say how long I've been here, but. 00:25:49
When I came in 1990. 00:25:52
We had a Cadillac limousine that was the ambulance. 00:25:54
That's how bad it was, guys. That's like Ghost, but that was Ghostbusters and we had ambulances that would get stranded and we'd 00:25:59
have to have an ambulance come from Albuquerque to. 00:26:04
To help us out so. 00:26:09
What you guys have done and and to get EMT's and firefighters. 00:26:10
Doing what you're doing for a small town like ours. 00:26:15
I don't think you look around, look around different towns. 00:26:18
In the state, we don't have that. Maslow's doesn't have that. 00:26:21
Now they have rescued but the AMR they just disbanded. 00:26:24
With Mr. 00:26:29
You know Deming. 00:26:32
So you guys are really special and the work that you do. 00:26:33
And as a doctor, I get. 00:26:37
Unbelievable amounts of respect when patients come and tell how their families were treated or you go and help somebody and many 00:26:41
times in town you don't even. 00:26:45
You don't even have to take him to the hospital, they just want to have somebody come and check on him and say. 00:26:50
Is everything OK? 00:26:55
So I think the service you guys provide is just tremendous. 00:26:57
And we try to do as much as we can. We try to get you as much. 00:27:00
Rolling stock that we can with vehicles and the fire engines. 00:27:03
And the and your salaries, it's tough in a small town. 00:27:08
But I think it's really been great to have this kind of. 00:27:12
A group together that. 00:27:15
Doesn't want you guys do. 00:27:16
Mr. Romero, all I want to say is they're the best friends the community could ever have. 00:27:18
And I know the guys from Vegeta appreciate that. 00:27:29
But that's, you know, again, that's another fight I'm fighting. 00:27:33
Mr. Lopez. 00:27:38
Chief, I just want to say thank you for your great leadership and. 00:27:41
You guys, thank you for your service. We really appreciate everything that you do. 00:27:47
Mr. Campbell. 00:27:53
I'm just, I'm proud that you guys are here and we're blessed to have you guys. 00:27:55
I mean, I really mean that, not just as firefighters. I see you guys everywhere, like everywhere. 00:27:59
And some of you guys I'm real close to, but even the other ones like we noticed. 00:28:04
Whole community notices. 00:28:09
We're blessed to have you guys. 00:28:10
Mike But yeah, does he have a twin? 00:28:12
Do you? Do you work at the fire department? You work at the? 00:28:16
Don't confuse you, I'm the old man. I'm really confused now. 00:28:19
I just want to add and echo all those sentiments that everyone has already said, but we are blessed to have you all here. You work 00:28:25
really hard and I know it first hand. And Chief, thank you. You stay till the bitter end and you came back again. 00:28:31
So thank you. 00:28:38
Like for the same thing my my relationship I haven't had any. 00:28:45
And we had our wrestling room burned down and, and it was, it's not losing a person, but to us as much as we poured into it and 00:28:50
everybody worked their tails off to try to save that building. 00:28:54
And I did the best and I know it was like a holiday. And then you guys are always at our wrestling events. We we just ask, hey, 00:28:59
can you guys show up and be present? 00:29:03
And she finds a way to get it, get him there. And I don't know how that they're present, They're there, they have their ambulance 00:29:07
ready. 00:29:11
Uncle dedicated got hurt or anything so just like a secure feeling knowing that. 00:29:14
You're near and your presence is near. I think families feel safe and people feel safe when you're near so. 00:29:18
That's a good big deal. Really appreciate you and your leadership, Chief, and. 00:29:24
And for all you guys in the community, all the things you do, so thank you. 00:29:29
Mr. Mrs. Hello. 00:29:33
So, you know, on a personal level we've had. 00:29:35
Calls to the emergency department for. 00:29:39
My uncles and my aunts or elderly and. 00:29:42
See a lot of your faces that come to the house and. 00:29:45
And work professionally and have you felt, we all felt confident that they were in the best hands? And I just want to say 00:29:48
personally, thank you for taking care of them like they were your own family. 00:29:53
Many times over the course of the year, seeing your faces there gives a. 00:29:59
Feeling of confidence that your professional and your your. 00:30:04
Trained and on target and we're I personally really appreciate the services that you provide for my family as you have for the 00:30:09
whole entire county or over the last few years. Thank you. 00:30:14
I'll echo everything the councillor said as well, but also the involvement you guys have with the community, from the parades to 00:30:25
the Matanzas to sporting events. 00:30:30
Like when the councillor said is is the involvement with everybody making them feel comfortable having a face with the name and 00:30:35
and. 00:30:39
Doing good work done only saving lives, but saving the community as well too so. 00:30:43
And, Chief, I'd be remiss not to mention Art Benavides. 00:30:48
Who passed away? One of the assistant fire chiefs who spent a lot of time with the fire department, right? 00:30:51
Yeah, I was. I had the privilege to work with Art. He was the assistant chief when I was here, so. 00:30:57
Yeah, we lost a brother. 00:31:02
Just a couple of weeks ago, so and I think the services are coming up May 30th. So you guys are available. 00:31:04
I wanted to say one thing and I forgot to mention it and I. 00:31:10
We did a special event for a tech student this past weekend for their graduation. 00:31:13
And she sent us the car. She also sent the mayor's office a card. 00:31:18
One of the things that she said and it made me happy is because. 00:31:22
On the bottom part of a card, it said. 00:31:25
The years that she was here as a tech student. 00:31:28
She she she enjoyed and liked the fact that how engaged we were with the community and. 00:31:31
Involved in the community. 00:31:37
And, and and really like that about that, about us. 00:31:39
And really felt safe knowing that. 00:31:43
She was in our hands, so I just want to let you guys know that that's coming from somebody that's not here. 00:31:47
That you guys probably don't even know but. 00:31:51
So you guys, you guys are noticed and I appreciate everything you guys do. 00:31:54
Thank you, gentlemen. 00:31:59
Who's who's mining the store? 00:32:04
Who's minding the store over here? 00:32:07
You got some crew still out. 00:32:09
Thank you very much for coming to our meeting. I know you're welcome. You guys are welcome to. 00:32:15
Be dismissed if you'd like. I don't know if you want to sit through this whole meeting, but again, thank you for your service. 00:32:20
That is probably one of the great moments I've had in City Council meeting. 00:32:39
Really good, Really good. 00:32:44
All right, we've got. 00:32:47
Delilah Walsh. 00:32:51
What are you doing back here? 00:32:53
I thought you're in Alaska. We're going to go into a. 00:32:56
What are we doing? 00:32:59
Public meeting #4. 00:33:01
ACIP. OK, Mr. Odin, Motion going to the ICIP public meeting #4 Second. 00:33:02
Now we've got Miss Walsh. 00:33:11
Good evening, Mr. Mayor, Council members. 00:33:13
Delilah Walsh I am vice president for administration and finance at New Mexico Tech. 00:33:16
And I have with me today El Garcia, who is our Director of Capital project. 00:33:21
Thank you. 00:33:26
Umm, we're actually here today as part of your hearing to make a request regarding your ICIP. 00:33:27
I will give you a little more information on our project since I've been here about two months and still drinking from the 00:33:33
firehose. 00:33:36
But. 00:33:40
Essentially what we're doing and we have two asks, 1 is a letter of support for the project and the second is that we be placed on 00:33:41
your ICIP as a project. 00:33:46
And in that ask as I'll explain. 00:33:51
We're not asking to be a priority project for the city, we just want to appear on your list, even if we're at the very bottom. 00:33:53
So we can demonstrate to the legislative bodies as well as the higher education department that we have community support and 00:34:00
we'll be making the same ask to Socorro County. 00:34:04
They've already passed their ICIP so they've been willing to add us in the next cycle since this is going to be a long term 00:34:08
project. 00:34:12
But to give you a very quick summary, New Mexico Tech, our very next big capital project ask is going to be for a comprehensive 00:34:15
Wellness Center. 00:34:20
That will replace the Recreation Center, swimming pool and the entire recreational aspect of the university. 00:34:24
We are looking beyond just recreation and what I mean by that is business and physical recreation. 00:34:31
Into more of the whole person. So we're looking at Wellness, gaming, mental health services, things like that. And if you give us 00:34:38
a moment, I'll can give you a quick summary and I'll pass out. 00:34:44
Flyers. 00:34:50
Good evening, everyone. My name is Alex Garcia and I'm the Director of Capital Projects for New Mexico Tech. 00:34:53
And So what? What, uh. 00:34:58
Over the years, New Mexico Tech has really tried to invest in its facilities and upgraded classrooms and labs. 00:35:01
And one of the top priorities has been? 00:35:07
To upgrade the gym and the pool and make it a comprehensive. 00:35:10
Student and community Wellness Center something that. 00:35:14
Tech can use the students, the community, faculty, everybody can come and use it. 00:35:18
And so at this last legislative session. 00:35:24
We received $1,000,000. 00:35:27
From the from the legislators for planning and design for this facility. 00:35:29
What we're thinking of. 00:35:33
Is a three story 60,000 square foot more or less facility something that would encompass? 00:35:35
Indoor swimming pool and indoor track. 00:35:41
Weight room, yoga rooms, Racquetball courts. 00:35:44
Basketball arenas. 00:35:48
It's not coming up with a court, an E gaming arena. 00:35:50
Classrooms. Meeting spaces. 00:35:54
Men's and women's locker rooms, something that. 00:35:57
That you could go. You could work on your physical health, you could work on your mental health, teach you somewhere, take care of 00:36:00
your body, take care of yourself. 00:36:03
And in this, in this handout that we passed out. 00:36:07
There's a few just very conceptual renderings of. 00:36:11
What it could possibly look like We've we've just gotten started with the planning. We're going to hire McLean and you architect 00:36:15
and design out of Albuquerque. 00:36:19
And they've done a few projects for us before and, and they're one of the top design firms. And so we're going to engage with 00:36:23
them. And as part of the planning process, we're going to have some community trips where we're going to be there with the 00:36:27
architects and we're going to invite everyone to come. 00:36:32
Listen to our presentation, ask questions, give us feedback, and it's going to be a very collaborative process between. 00:36:37
Tech and the community. And so that's where we stand right now. 00:36:43
And so that's going to be our number one ask. 00:36:48
At the legislators or at the HED summer hearings because the process for us to receive funding. 00:36:51
Is every summer. 00:36:58
We go before the higher Education Department, the State Board of Finance, Legislative Finance Council and we make our our request 00:37:00
and this coming up cycle is going to be a general obligation bond year. 00:37:05
And so those are typically the larger. 00:37:11
Dollar asks. And so if it gets approved or recommended by the committee, then it goes to legislature and then it goes to all of us 00:37:13
as voters to approve it or vote on it. 00:37:19
And so we're gonna ask for $30 million this coming session. 00:37:25
We're estimating the total project is going to be somewhere. 00:37:29
Around 46 million. 00:37:33
Give or take somewhere around there. 00:37:35
The remainder is going to be made-up hopefully from donations from student fees from. 00:37:37
Maybe the city, county. 00:37:42
We're looking at all options to. 00:37:45
To fund the rest of this piece in Mexico Tech internal reserves. We're not sure we're gonna, We're gonna. 00:37:47
See what we can do, but the major ask is going to come from the state and so that's going to be 30 million is coming up. 00:37:52
This coming up session. 00:37:58
And so. 00:37:59
With that, we'll stand for any questions. 00:38:01
Where is it going to be? 00:38:04
We're looking at, we're looking at probably where the existing swim center is at right now. We don't have a definite location, but 00:38:06
that makes the most sense. 00:38:10
For kind of the central campus, easy access for community and there's a there's a good amount of space there with a pool, the 00:38:15
parking areas that we can house. 00:38:20
Everything in one spot right there, but we don't have a definite location yet. 00:38:24
How about the city? 00:38:29
Public be involved in being able to use it. 00:38:30
They can come in. 00:38:35
It'll be a. It'll be by. 00:38:36
By subscription I will be. 00:38:39
Allocated to a certain number of people that can be used or Thank you, Mr. Mayor. We are actually changing our models for how 00:38:41
those recreation fees will work where you could subscribe for membership. 00:38:46
One of the big actions that New Mexico Tech took this year through our Auxiliary Services division. 00:38:52
Is we got approval from the state insurance authority. 00:38:57
To count the New Mexico Tech Gymnasium and recreation area as insurance reimbursable. 00:39:01
So if you just as if you were in Albuquerque and you joined Planet Fitness and you can get that reimbursed on your state 00:39:07
insurance, you can now do that with New Mexico Tech. So there will be subscription or not a subscription membership. 00:39:13
Sees in order to take advantage of it, just like we do with the swimming pool golf course. 00:39:19
Things like that, that's where the rub comes. 00:39:24
It it does, but there is no other funding. We can't charge our students to have a recreation facility to others that are not 00:39:27
students because but you're asking us to put it on the ICP for the city. 00:39:33
So there has to be some benefit to the city and the citizens. 00:39:39
So that's why I'm asking if there's a. 00:39:44
And you know, you're still going to have to come up with another 1520 million. 00:39:47
And I'm certainly in favor of it. We've talked about it forever. 00:39:52
Whether the city and the county and the school system can do a bond issue. 00:39:55
Along with tech to make up the difference. 00:39:59
So, but we would have to have a buy on it and we would have to have some. 00:40:02
Skin of the game as far as the use of it is concerned, absolutely. If there is a monetary ask, I would say absolutely. We'd have 00:40:06
to negotiate something to that sense of what is the benefit if we did, let's say for example, a joint bond issue. 00:40:12
With the city, the county, school district. 00:40:19
Ourselves, there would have to absolutely be some sort of concession of. 00:40:22
What does that membership look look like? How are the taxpayers benefiting from the facility itself? We're not there yet. 00:40:26
We're still in concept, but I think that's an absolutely valid point that there, that's when we become, but there's an actual 00:40:32
dollar type. 00:40:36
It does, even though it may be way down the list, although I think it should be high up. We would love to see when. 00:40:42
Like to have one in hobbies? There's a beautiful one in Hobbs called. 00:40:47
And it would be almost, if you're just at the carbon copy of that, you put that here. 00:40:51
If what you're asking to do and but we're actually going to be meeting with people who who brought up the core project. Yeah, so. 00:40:55
But I mean, we're all, I think we're all in favor. We had a whole bunch of people with the swim team. 00:41:03
The other day and we're on favor of it, but. 00:41:07
I can only go back to Macy's center. 00:41:10
Macy Center of the city, the citizens bought seats and stuff like that. 00:41:13
And there was. 00:41:17
Maybe a handshake agreement that the people would get at least one or two events there. 00:41:18
And we could have it Macy Center and not be built for it. 00:41:24
And I don't know if that went by the wayside. I'm just saying. 00:41:26
We want to have some sort of a. 00:41:30
Written memorandum of agreement. 00:41:33
Even if we put it on the ICIP. 00:41:36
Rather than just a handshake thing. 00:41:38
But again, I'm all in favor of this fantastic thing for the city. 00:41:40
Will not only will get gross receipts just from building it. 00:41:44
So I think we'll benefit, there's no question. 00:41:47
But in the future. 00:41:49
Want to make sure that the citizens get some benefit from, you know, supporting this. 00:41:51
I think, Mr. Mayor, thank council members. That's an absolutely valid point. And I, I do want to share that when we brought this 00:41:56
project to the Board of Regents, because we were only allowed to submit 5. 00:42:01
And that's it to HED. 00:42:07
We don't get to put a laundry list even though we have our own laundry list. We're only allowed the five because they're looking 00:42:09
at all the universities. 00:42:12
But the Board of Regents this was not. 00:42:15
As staff, a #1 project is, you know, because we're looking at other things, lab safety and other buildings and things we need for 00:42:18
our mission. 00:42:22
But to the Board of Regents, this was incredibly important, not only to the health and well-being of our citizens. 00:42:26
Especially to the health and well-being of the city of Sapporo or Socorro citizens. 00:42:32
And so this really pushed up quite well. How do you think it would help? 00:42:37
The health and well-being of the Sakura citizens. The availability of the resources and services. 00:42:42
Yeah. So, so that would be a discussion and we can absolutely include that. 00:42:48
In our studies, part of the $1,000,000 of planning, in our last staff meeting, we actually talked about investing in a mental 00:42:53
health needs survey for our community. 00:42:58
And working with those professionals. 00:43:04
Not only what does the quorum need in terms of general health, but also mental health and what are the true needs of our 00:43:06
communities? That's not something we typically do when we're planning with an architect. 00:43:11
So we'll be commissioning a separate set of studies to really evaluate what the needs of the community are, including our student 00:43:17
community. 00:43:20
Well, it would be great for recruitment, I'm sure. 00:43:24
Think to have that. 00:43:27
A comment, Mr. Partridge. 00:43:29
When would you need it? 00:43:31
On the way I know when we need our CIP, but when is this? 00:43:33
Like time frame for. 00:43:37
You guys, you don't need it tomorrow and we don't even need it on this year's ICIP, but we do want to make the ask ahead of time. 00:43:39
Only because, as Al mentioned, we still have to go to HEB just to get into a consideration of the bond. 00:43:46
Issue. And that's the entire general. 00:43:52
Higher education bond issue that happens for the state of New Mexico. 00:43:55
That's not even going to be on the ballot until 2026. 00:43:59
And so we still have to go through that first step. So of course we'd like to hear the city support as soon as possible, but we're 00:44:03
not in a big rush. We do need it by next year though, by the next year cycle. 00:44:09
Mr. Clement. 00:44:14
All right. Thank you, Mr. Mayor. Delilah, I'm glad to see you. 00:44:16
Have this ship by the. 00:44:21
Proper sales, but. 00:44:23
In your presentation. 00:44:26
There's a couple of things that we're lacking. 00:44:28
One you never mentioned. 00:44:31
State science fair. 00:44:34
Or the state science Olympian. 00:44:36
And that's what tech stands for. 00:44:40
So in your presentations and the people in Santa Fe, you may want to say you need a facility large enough. 00:44:43
To hold the state science fair in science Lapia at your complex. 00:44:50
Otherwise, we're going to see you and Anna take it away from us. 00:44:57
Mr. Mayor, Councilmember. Funny, that's an excellent point. We will definitely add that to our ask. 00:45:02
Mr. Oak Campbell Yeah, My question is for Donald. If we've already filled out our ICIP and we have our top five and we've already 00:45:08
turned it in. 00:45:12
How does this even happen? How do we get it on the? 00:45:16
Before we change the meeting to today's date, it was supposed to be last Tuesday and I requested that they all be sent back to me 00:45:20
by that date so I can start putting them in the state system. 00:45:25
But we can change that at anytime. Our IC IP is due July 11th. 00:45:30
So I wanted to get them back before June so I could because I have to go through and edit them and. 00:45:34
But legalese in there, but I have a question for maybe Alex or Delilah too. How's your swimming pool? Because we got some 00:45:40
complaints about the swimming pool. 00:45:44
Mr. Mayor. 00:45:49
Mr. Monette, the swimming pool is in is in need of some some rehab. It's. 00:45:50
We're putting a we're putting a Band-Aid on it. 00:45:57
The the pool deck. 00:46:00
It was it was cracking and shifting. And so we. 00:46:02
Came up with kind of a temporary solution. Put some put some rubber mats around the top of it and try to make it make it safe. 00:46:06
But it's not in good shape. 00:46:14
It's it's just not. There may be some. 00:46:15
Some cracks in a. 00:46:19
In the bottom of the pool and things like that, but. 00:46:20
Yeah, it's not in good shape. We're also moving very quickly to find a solution for the bubble. 00:46:24
Because we can't put backfield structure so. But before the winter hits again, we do need to have a solution for a bubble. 00:46:29
OK, Mr. Ocampo, would the swimming pool be like the the official size where there would be a possibility of starting to have those 00:46:41
events? Oh, yes, absolutely, yes. 00:46:46
It's intended to be year round indoor as well as competition size. 00:46:52
I think that's awesome. 00:46:57
Mr. Mr. Again just. 00:46:59
Quick question mark, how much is the membership for the for the weight room here? 00:47:01
Any other questions we go out of public hearing. 00:47:13
Motion and a motion to come back out of public hearing. 00:47:18
Seconded. All in favor, aye. 00:47:23
OK. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for coming and bringing that exciting program. 00:47:25
So, Donald. 00:47:32
What's the process? 00:47:35
So that's going to bring this up later because our next scheduled meeting is next week and I don't know if the council wants to 00:47:36
have a meeting that quickly. And the only thing I had on that agenda so far. 00:47:42
Is the ICIP resolution. 00:47:48
So once they adopt their resolution, I'll put it all into the state system and then I have to send them three forms and it it goes 00:47:51
to the legislative Finance Committee, it goes to. 00:47:56
The legislators, can they get it all electronically now? We used to have to deliver. 00:48:01
Hand breath or not? Well, they were handwritten for a while. 00:48:06
Paper documents and then get our legislators to sign off on them. But now it's all electronic. 00:48:09
And I thought does the. 00:48:14
Tech have icip. 00:48:15
Does tech have an ICIP list? 00:48:18
Yes, we do. And like I said, we're only allowed to remember top five priorities approved by the Regents and HED well, the Regents. 00:48:20
Participate in any of our ICRP requests? I believe so. 00:48:29
Thanks. And just to clarify an ICIP. 00:48:34
When you have joint sponsors, So what we've done in the past and I've been gone for about 6 years so it could have changed, but 00:48:38
essentially it says. 00:48:42
Agency A is the lead agency. This is their project. 00:48:46
Agencies BC and D just cross reference the IC IP number on theirs in support. 00:48:49
But you know, there's a limited amount of money then again, on this bond issue. 00:48:57
Does it have to be classrooms or can be can be a? 00:49:01
Can be a building that's. 00:49:04
Not a classroom. 00:49:06
It can be a building that's not a classroom, so long as you're benefiting the students. 00:49:08
On ATV night, general bond issue, yes. So it's all higher Ed bonds. 00:49:12
And so all our buildings have to demonstrate that that we're benefiting the student body. 00:49:17
So I don't, I mean, I, you know, I think the city needs to support it. 00:49:23
I just try to figure out a vehicle as to how to do it. 00:49:27
And whether? 00:49:31
I mean, it's not going to be our top three priorities, but. 00:49:32
Certainly we can. I mean we have like him. How many ICF people? 00:49:36
You can have on their system as many as you want, but they asked me about four years to go to deactivate some of ours because 00:49:40
nobody. Nope, they were. They've been on there for 15 or 20 years and nothing had been done with them, so they said. 00:49:46
Just deactivate them. So I mean probably got 20 given some of the comments that I had pointed comments. 00:49:53
If the Council would like to. 00:50:01
I can figure out a way to put it on the ICIP. 00:50:04
But then we need to workout the specifics about what we were asking. 00:50:07
About how this is going to work but. 00:50:10
And concept, I think we should support it. 00:50:13
I mean, it is something that will help the city and. 00:50:18
I'm not sure about this Wellness for. 00:50:20
Citizens of Sapporo. 00:50:23
And their mental health, how that's going to work, but. 00:50:25
It's certainly a facility that's going to be a jewel as far as. 00:50:28
The city is concerned. 00:50:33
So if a council wants to do that, I certainly wouldn't be against it. 00:50:35
Miss Travis Lopez. 00:50:40
So the motion is to put it on the ACIP. 00:50:42
Yeah, so moved and seconded any discussion. 00:50:45
So. So I think we will. 00:50:49
But also I'm not sure exactly what the. 00:50:51
With the priority level is going to be but. 00:50:54
I think all in favor. 00:50:57
Aye. 00:51:00
We're certainly interested in putting it on the ICICI. 00:51:00
What year do you expect construction to be in? 00:51:05
Mr. Mayor, Councilmembers, Mr. Administrator, we we anticipate we won't even start construction until 2029. 00:51:09
Because the elections in 26. 00:51:17
Analysis of the bond issues 27. 00:51:19
Than the grant agreements are about 28 so you know for all the stuff that I said I. 00:51:22
I hope that's considered but. 00:51:27
And you sure have learned the City Council mayor business pretty well. 00:51:29
But uh. 00:51:34
I think we should. 00:51:37
We should put that I miss. 00:51:38
Would be fairly high priority if we get what we. 00:51:40
Get for our citizens too. And the way the ICIP works is you list. 00:51:43
You listen, it's a five year plan and you listen by year so we can add it to 2029. 00:51:48
So let's try to put that at least in the top five, and I think it'd be great. Let me ask you for some more information when I 00:51:53
start going out. Thank you for bringing it to us. 00:51:57
Thank you very much. Thank you. 00:52:01
Yes, ma'am, Mr. 00:52:03
The reminder as to who outside of the Council. 00:52:06
Has had a request other than the. 00:52:10
People that were here for the swimming pool. 00:52:13
And New Mexico, get tonight with anybody else. 00:52:15
Outsider last year of bicycle lanes, but those are the only outside requests we've had. 00:52:19
OK. Thank you. 00:52:26
And I would like to ask the council to again e-mail me your list. 00:52:28
I've only received one so far, and I talked to Peter about his yesterday or last week. Mr. Mayor, Mr. If the only thing on the 00:52:32
agenda is the ICP, we do a noon meeting next week then and just knockout that ICIP. 00:52:39
We could. Sounds like a good idea. I didn't know if you just didn't on the agenda. It's also the summer meeting schedule. You 00:52:46
didn't know if the council wanted to look at that again. 00:52:51
And if and if the Council decides to go that way, we can wait till the next meeting in June, because then I'll still have as long 00:52:57
as I have time to put it in the computer. 00:53:02
The resolution really it's just an attachment. 00:53:07
Mr. Fleming. 00:53:13
Make a motion that we skip the week and get down all the opportunity that a goal interning. 00:53:14
So we will skip the June 3rd meeting. 00:53:21
Uh, we're going to have a noon meeting for the ICIP either way. That's fine with me too. 00:53:24
OK. We need to monitor. We just do it administratively. 00:53:29
We get it. Yep. 00:53:32
OK, Porter Segura. 00:53:34
Nicholas de Marie. 00:53:36
Hello, Mayor, council members, my name is Nicholas Green. I am the director for Puerto Rico and. 00:53:41
I am here. 00:53:48
We want to renew our lease agreement. 00:53:50
Work with Aurora's safe Harbor. 00:53:53
We're kind of subleasing it. 00:53:56
Donald, give us the It's unfortunate that the Lila left. 00:53:58
That's all right. Cleve McDaniel was the last vice president of finance and administration that signed the lease. 00:54:03
And it does have a clause in it, but we can do an automatic five year extension. 00:54:09
But before we talked. 00:54:14
Puerto Saudo, we want to get permission from Tech that they'll still owner that lease. 00:54:16
And we're all in favor of it. We just want to get them to OK. 00:54:21
Do you want us to make a motion on that? 00:54:25
Yeah, but the administration to move forward with it. 00:54:28
Us to move forward with it. I'll make a motion second administration move on with the lease with and thank you for the good work 00:54:31
you're doing. Thank you. 00:54:35
We will then go on to the Gita senior. We went over the we skipped the preliminary budget. 00:54:41
Ruby. Sorry Ruby. 00:54:51
Apologize. 00:54:53
Mayor, council members. So I'm doing I'm doing a little different this year, so I'm just doing a preliminary budget overview. 00:54:57
I met with department heads and budget committee, so when I put together is just a summary of. 00:55:04
The whole booklet together and this is the main thing that. 00:55:09
I work off of them that I report to the state. 00:55:13
So for the revenue for general fund, there's an increase about 7%. 00:55:16
This is preliminary, so I won't have the numbers until we're in final budget and final budget I will have the book and that will 00:55:21
be accurate numbers. 00:55:24
It's my ending numbers and my beginning numbers. They match. 00:55:28
Join Enterprise revenue will be about 4%. 00:55:32
Overall GRT. 00:55:35
This year we're about 25%. 00:55:37
But I will not budget that whole 25% cuz I don't know what's going to come in next year. 00:55:39
So I try to be a little conservative. 00:55:43
Expenditures general fund is about 6%, joint enterprise is about 2%. 00:55:46
In meeting with all the department heads, the concerns are just. 00:55:52
Inflation. The cost of. 00:55:56
The items for repairing system maintenance that has gone up a lot. Our gas meters, we're having to go with another vendor because 00:55:58
the vendor we have no longer sells the gas meters. 00:56:03
We buy a register and we buy a meter, Now we're going to buy them together. 00:56:08
So and that's going to be a whole new software S we're going to have two different meter system, meter reading systems because. 00:56:11
Because of that reason. 00:56:17
So Capital. 00:56:20
I don't have too much in capital outlay. I'm being a little bit conservative. We have purchased a lot in these past. 00:56:23
Years with vehicles and getting the landfill up to date. So I don't have too much in capital outlay, capital improvements. Of 00:56:29
course we do have capital improvements. I try to put a little bit in each department just in case something comes up. 00:56:36
I don't have a price on the. 00:56:44
Insurance liability for vehicles and I won't have that probably for a couple of weeks maybe. Christie got an e-mail today. 00:56:46
That will probably go up. 00:56:53
Health insurance went up 24%. 00:56:55
Per a employee and employer went up. 00:56:57
.50. 00:57:00
So that's that's it for our budget our. 00:57:04
Salaries went up. 00:57:08
So our salaries last year were 12 million. 00:57:09
About 12.3. This year they're about 14.3. 00:57:12
So that's a difference about 12% increase just in salaries with that salary infringed, so. 00:57:16
That's all your friends health insurance. 00:57:20
