At the first round of his. 00:00:00
And we would like to have you consider. 00:00:02
Opening the City Hall year round. 00:00:06
With the cover. 00:00:10
In the winter time. 00:00:11
I believe if we cooperate. 00:00:14
With the tent we can make home. 00:00:17
Portable Aquatic Center or a place for all ages to enjoy the pool. 00:00:20
Hi there, News light parts. 00:00:27
I would love to hear from you. 00:00:30
And if you could consider having a dialogue with us in the future. 00:00:33
And possibly having orthotics center open to the community year round. 00:00:38
Working together and having a pool is something that's very important to us. 00:00:45
Having it closed so long. 00:00:52
We can feel our aches and pains. 00:00:55
And we can't do as much as we might. 00:00:58
Ideally we would like to have the city pool open year round for all ages. 00:01:01
Thank you for your time. 00:01:08
Thank you. 00:01:11
Anyone else want to say? 00:01:12
Add Yes Sir. 00:01:14
Come on. Come on up. 00:01:18
Just to get a document that will have a record of it and tell us who you are. 00:01:20
I am Robert Oppenheimer. 00:01:26
And as you can see by the way I walk, you know, I didn't know we had a poo. 00:01:29
Frankly. 00:01:34
And that pool would be perfect for me because my back is done. 00:01:35
I mean, and if you know what I'm talking about, where it comes in your back, comes into your hip. 00:01:40
Oh my goodness. And that water aerobics really doesn't know me. 00:01:46
You know, so anyway, that's what I'd like. Thank you. Thank you. 00:01:50
All right. Thanks. 00:01:54
It's coming up. 00:01:56
I'm Catherine Stewart Roach and I reside in Socorro. 00:02:07
And use both the tech pool and the city book. 00:02:12
And I just wanted to point out that. 00:02:16
The financial burden for the city. 00:02:19
Would not just be the city doing everything because. 00:02:23
At check we have to pay. 00:02:27
To use that. 00:02:31
And there could be different ways to charge. 00:02:32
The regular people. 00:02:37
With, you know, 1/2 year a year subscription, things like that. 00:02:39
So the financial burden could be shared by the participants. 00:02:46
Do you know what? What? Why the? 00:02:52
Tech pool is not open. 00:02:55
Do you know why it's not open? 00:02:57
And becomes. 00:03:00
Didn't come. Yeah. 00:03:02
So they just closed it. 00:03:08
So we get information. Will you be able to use it if it opens? 00:03:16
And so. 00:03:24
Would we would have to? 00:03:34
I mean, there's two choices. Well, there's more than two, but the choice of doing a enclosed pool. 00:03:38
Is cost is a lot of cost to it. 00:03:45
If we could workout a deal with tech. 00:03:49
And we do that for a swim team too. 00:03:51
The high school stuff, because we pay. 00:03:54
Pay them if there's some way we could help them. 00:03:56
Financially to fix the pool. 00:04:00
Might be an easier way to do it. 00:04:02
Well, that, that, that was a that's a misnomer. It was not a water park. 00:04:11
That, that, that. 00:04:15
Pond is meant for Conservancy overflow. 00:04:17
And also for the Superfund cleanup. 00:04:21
Of water that will be discharged into that pond. 00:04:25
The water park. 00:04:29
Kind of got. 00:04:30
I mean I would love to have a water park but it's not a slide and swimming. 00:04:32
It would be basically just kayaks and boats and stuff. Is not meant to be a water park. 00:04:36
But the. 00:04:42
Reason for it? 00:04:43
Is because of the Superfund cleanup. 00:04:44
And overflow for the 100 year. 00:04:46
Flood that Conservancy. We put all. 00:04:49
Flood water. 00:04:52
After it's been placed in a pond like Franklin Pond, we have a bunch of ponds all over town. 00:04:53
That is a discharge into the ditches. 00:04:58
And the Conservancy has told us that we may not be allowed to do that because of a. 00:05:00
100 year flood thing where they would have to. 00:05:05
Have the ditches accept all the water that would be coming down South that that water could be diverted into that pond. 00:05:08
So we would still have the ditches for the city. 00:05:15
So that water park was a misnomer as far as it being a slide and. 00:05:17
You know, things like that. 00:05:22
Well I was under the impression tech was planning to do a. 00:05:26
Large building with indoor swimming. 00:05:31
Jim and all that. I thought that was something that they had planned at one time. 00:05:35
Yeah, but what if you would give me another meeting to talk to tech? 00:05:40
To see what it would cost. 00:05:45
To do a permanent fix on their leak, and we've had that problem at our pool. 00:05:47
To do a year round cool. 00:05:51
We lose money just the summer pool because what happens is we get this peak in the summer. 00:05:54
For one month and then it just goes down. 00:05:59
Not yourselves, because you use it all the time. 00:06:01
The other one I even hate to even bring this up. 00:06:04
But there's we have two indoor pools, we have one of the Best Western one of the Holiday Inn. 00:06:08
If the city could contract to be able to have, it's a problem. It's a problem of insurance. 00:06:12
People who do not stay there are not insured if something happens at the pool. 00:06:17
We're not insured, so that would be an outlier. 00:06:21
A solution. They're fairly large. They would take aerobics. They're not. They're shallow, 4 feet. 00:06:25
But that would be a kind of an outlier solution, yeah. 00:06:33
The hurting. 00:06:42
To figure out a way to have those particularly. 00:06:45
Yeah, it's because. 00:06:49
The city is meaningful. 00:06:53
And. 00:06:56
Does not qualify for meat. 00:06:59
It is, and you know. 00:07:02
So I think it would be a federal. 00:07:04
Where these meat? 00:07:10
No, I agree with you. And there's an item coming up called ICIP. 00:07:12
Public meeting #2 if we would stick around. 00:07:17
And Justice make the same statements we could put it on. 00:07:19
To Do List. 00:07:23
And that health food money? Yes, ma'am. 00:07:24
They they replace the bubble. 00:07:32
And the belief is like there's. 00:07:35
Fact that they're hoping to find somebody to write it down, but meanwhile. 00:07:39
$1000 thing. She has all these figures. She's like, oh, they're all these things. 00:07:44
She got like the cover. 00:07:48
Minimum. 00:07:51
And yeah, they were talking about the building with it. 00:07:54
Strictly indoor pool. 00:07:58
That like what you're talking about that building? 00:08:00
People are still outside. 00:08:06
It's best for me to at least try to. 00:08:10
Look at the different alternatives as to what the cost will be. The cost will be in that range. 00:08:12
And for? 00:08:17
Bigger pool the the enclosure the. 00:08:19
The HVAC and the. 00:08:22
Exchange air system and all that we just have to look at, but if you would, if you would just stick around for the next. 00:08:23
The next item. 00:08:31
And we could say, hey, we had. 00:08:33
All the people that you're glad, you guys. 00:08:36
Is to say that we were going to be able to put that on the ICIP. 00:08:38
Mr. O'Connell Yeah, Mr. Mayor, umm, I know that. It's that exact thing has been on, on my ICP and I know that. 00:08:42
I was on the committee to help unify to deal. 00:08:50
And did we actually get that drawn in just in case down the line we're able to find the line? I believe they they put something on 00:08:53
there. I mean, they didn't price it out that they put it on the drawings. I mean, I think, I think I mean that's really been one 00:08:58
of her. But you know, so about priorities and money. 00:09:03
But umm. 00:09:09
That's on our agenda that have an indoor Natatorium type of a. 00:09:10
Situation. I would like to see us do it with the schools. 00:09:14
The county, The Tech. 00:09:17
And the city? 00:09:19
Would be a bond issue. 00:09:20
That would. 00:09:22
Did the Las Vegas, NM has done it. 00:09:23
But uh. 00:09:26
It's going to be 4 to 5 million if you're going to really do a good one. 00:09:27
But uh. 00:09:31
It would be good to have all four entities involved. 00:09:32
And trying to finance it instead of just the city taking on its own, we would still manage it. 00:09:35
But I think it would get Tech, the city, county and the schools involved with that. 00:09:42
That would be the. 00:09:47
Best Ave. to try to get this thing? 00:09:48
Accomplished. 00:09:50
Yeah, I know. Your arthritis, I'm sure is going to hurt until we do. 00:09:53
That's the problem, Mr. 00:09:58
If the. 00:10:02
Tech or something or other isn't able to open this summer. 00:10:04
Might we be able to help? 00:10:08
By maybe extending hours to. 00:10:10
To get there. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. 00:10:13
But when you do have this open, what do you guys do? You don't you come at lunch or something? Why do you? 00:10:16
Yeah. Oh, OK. But I mean the organized. 00:10:22
Aerobics though. 00:10:25
Yeah. 00:10:29
Catherine, I know you. 00:10:37
I'm sure you are. 00:10:40
Windmills haven't swung for them. 00:10:44
Oh yeah, which is convenient in the summer as far as fun. 00:10:52
There and then they. 00:10:59
Paints were just opened up so you. 00:11:02
You know you had that. 00:11:08
We have one of the few Olympic, I mean large size pools in the state. 00:11:10
And we do get meats because and it would be an attraction. 00:11:14
I just think you have to just put. 00:11:18
The budget together for it, but I think those ended down for those. 00:11:20
Entities have to be involved with it. 00:11:24
Because I think the high school has a team. 00:11:27
You know, and and the heck it would attract students to come to something like that because I think they put a price that if you 00:11:29
went to Hobbs and I've seen their their place. 00:11:33
It's called Core. It's fantastic. 00:11:38
But to replicate that is 30 million. 00:11:41
And that in this day, in this day and age. 00:11:43
But that's. 00:11:46
You know, when Doctor Lopez was here, Doctor Wells was here, they even had. 00:11:47
Sketch of one of those, one of an auditorium in a. 00:11:52
Jim, but if we can talk to their. 00:11:55
People that run their show get to see if we could get involved with that because then we could do a bond issue. 00:11:59
And we could. 00:12:04
Figure out a way to pay for it. 00:12:06
The recurrent. 00:12:08
Amount of money that it takes to run it would be on the city. 00:12:11
But the capital outlet just. 00:12:14
Build it would be would have to be spread across these four people, I think. 00:12:16
And I think it'll be good, Mr. Roach. 00:12:21
Who won the? 00:12:35
Listen, we spend a lot of money at the rodeo. We spend a lot of money at the Convention Center. 00:12:40
And soccer fields and you were constituents that. 00:12:54
Are asking for something. I think we have to look into that that is just. 00:12:58
Look. 00:13:06
No question about it. 00:13:14
But but yes ma'am. 00:13:17
That's scary. 00:13:24
Tech is doing a little bit quick fix to take in a contact thing. 00:13:30
And I think the pool could be shut down again. 00:13:35
Weeks and all kinds of things. This is just a temporary fix to throw down mass of a crumbling cart country. 00:13:39
So bond issues and all of that are great uncertain. 00:13:49
I would hope that we could come up with a. 00:13:55
A quicker solution in at least keeping the city pool open longer than the six weeks it's open. I've only been here for 10:00 PM. 00:13:59
And I realize there's lifeguard issues and all of that, but. 00:14:10
The pool could certainly be open through September and whatever. 00:14:14
And the tech may be closing down. 00:14:18
May want to try to open early too if they're got they're going to start doing it in May. 00:14:23
Let me look into them. I look at this. 00:14:27
We'll try and look into opening earlier. 00:14:39
I don't see Lloyd in here. 00:14:42
But we just don't maybe get. 00:14:44
Get together with him and. 00:14:46
And see, we can't talk about opening it early. 00:14:48
And then living out lit. My whole thing is if you have a pool, a city pool. 00:14:51
I have to have lifeguards, no matter that you may not need them. 00:14:56
But I gotta have it for liability. 00:14:59
And so that that's X the number of people that I have to have. 00:15:02
You open up a lot of information we need to look into. 00:15:13
So we'll definitely do that. 00:15:17
Anyone else? 00:15:22
OK, so anyone else at the public comment? Yes ma'am. Oh my goodness. 00:15:26
It's. 00:15:30
So how bad did you guys beat the? 00:15:34
Poor kids saw you guys were running again. They beat all those poor kids. 00:15:36
This item here on behalf of the Socorro High School and Middle School Track team to say thank you to the City of Sakura City 00:15:42
Council Mayor Vasker. 00:15:46
And everybody involved for our wonderful T-shirt. See. 00:15:51
We are proud of our shirts. I think it really. 00:15:59
The Ted's confidence when they travel and they all look. 00:16:03
The same in their T-shirt. 00:16:09
Thank you. I have a couple of photos of the team from the one on top is my favorite because it includes Coach Chuck. Similarly in 00:16:14
the middle. This is taken at Zimmerly release that we hosted at the end of March. He is still out there. I would bet there are 00:16:18
like. 00:16:23
Probably many people in this room who are also coached. I purchased similarly and he's still there every day. 00:16:28
With these kids, and I say I'm still favorite photo of the year. The one at the bottom shows everybody in their team shirts, but I 00:16:34
took it looking into the sun and they were anatomy and something. So it's smaller at the bottom. 00:16:39
I also included some points. 00:16:44
The things that was accomplished this year as a team for community service. 00:16:47
He has to talk to you that are humanly realized. 00:16:54
High school and marriage. 00:16:56
An inaugural community traffic for the entire community. It was really, really cold, blustery day unfortunately, but we still had 00:16:58
meeting participants. AJ is. 00:17:03
7 to 70 come out and participate in something at the track. That day was super fun. 00:17:09
We raised over $1300 in the process and so we're doing, we're doing OK. 00:17:17
Thanks to Cheyenne, you picked up countless bags of trash. 00:17:22
And I see arena all weekend setting out balloons for the next territory's Cowboy wanted to shooting competition. So these are some 00:17:28
of the ways that we. 00:17:32
As Check team has been visible in the community, trying to serve our community and also getting experiences to take on a lot of 00:17:37
running in that day. 00:17:41
We will be hosting the Three a District in Tech meet on May 2nd. 00:17:46
It's also emblematic as a student that I invited all the other classroom to come and wear their shirts. 00:17:51
Just you didn't join me and the only one that showed up is I really want to highlight and then this season. 00:17:56
Not only did he show up, he is our top performer day in and day out. 00:18:05
On the team that he has kept up and new leadership over the season since our corner place package putting the left in December and 00:18:11
he didn't really have a chance to find somebody who knew anything about speaking. So is that me? 00:18:17
It's really sad and I guessing group brought those guys along and he's our toxic qualifier so far. The expections bought by more 00:18:24
in the coming weeks. 00:18:29
And so I was going to let him know about his keeping up. 00:18:35
Well, thank you. Are you going to speak? 00:18:41
Come on, let's do it. 00:18:44
Yeah, again, I'm Isaiah Ocampo. 00:18:47
This year it's been, it's been pretty tough, you know, like. 00:18:50
Coach said I had to step up a little bit and kind of like. 00:18:53
Coach per SE. 00:18:57
My dad has been helping to help me a lot. 00:18:59
The other big thing this year, I've just been trying to get all the kids on the same page. We're trying to get everybody to work 00:19:03
hard. That's like the biggest, like you can have no talent on a team and everybody works hard and you still go places. We also 00:19:07
have a football and. 00:19:11
That's what we want to do with track 2, I mean. 00:19:16
I still have a long way to come. I've qualified right now. I've qualified in the 100 meters. 00:19:19
My team is qualified in the medley relay of official state right now, actually by about 8 seconds. 00:19:25
I've qualified in business and many more to come. 00:19:33
So hopefully, hopefully. 00:19:36
I pulled up the season well. 00:19:38
OK, good, Good job. 00:19:41
Well, thank you. Thank you for being such a leader. It's really appreciated. I think it's great. And Beth, thank you so much for 00:19:43
continuing on your work. 00:19:48
Mr. Fleming and one thing a lot of people may not be aware of. 00:19:53
This young adults from the track team and their coaches were up at the arena. 00:19:58
All weekend long. 00:20:04
Blowing balloons running through the dirt to get them back in so the balloons can be shot up while the participants. 00:20:06
And they did that. 00:20:16
For many hours on Saturday and then again on Sunday. So congratulations. 00:20:18
You were. 00:20:27
I also want to thank you for honoring Chuck. 00:20:28
You know, it was on the council for a long, long time and. 00:20:33
He's always been active in sports, but in the community also. But thank you so much for. 00:20:36
Bring that up as a generally track me if that was terrific. 00:20:41
Thank you. 00:20:45
Thank you. Thank you. 00:20:46
Anyone else? 00:20:48
Yes, ma'am. 00:20:50
You can. Did you bring any food? 00:20:53
So my name is Allison Mason. I'm the new president of the Socorro Farmers Market. This is Christy Mays. She is the. 00:21:06
New vice president of the Socorro Farmers Circuit. And then we have Brady Alexander. She's going to be our new market manager. 00:21:13
Come this summer. 00:21:20
And we wanted to 1st acknowledge the support we've gotten from the city for so many years. 00:21:21
The farmers market is a really. 00:21:27
Great and important community event. 00:21:30
And the city has been so supportive in letting us use the Plaza. The Plaza is wonderful. It's a great space. 00:21:33
And also the Socorro Youth Center during the winter so we can keep having. 00:21:40
This all. 00:21:45
Year long. 00:21:47
During the summer we have. 00:21:49
Between 300 and 400 customers. 00:21:51
Every Saturday, that support may be. 00:21:55
Between. 00:21:58
15 and 25 vendors. 00:22:00
Small businesses within the city. 00:22:03
So we're just, we are really. 00:22:06
Grateful for your continued support. 00:22:08
And we wanted to make sure that we were being good stewards. 00:22:11
Of the the city. 00:22:15
Property that we were using. 00:22:19
And we looked into. 00:22:21
What other markets around the state are using to protect grass and things like that to make sure that we're not damaging the grass 00:22:23
from the Plaza. 00:22:27
And what we've done and. 00:22:32
Is require our. 00:22:35
Vendors to use a. 00:22:39
Ground covering. 00:22:41
So the grass won't get trampled. 00:22:42
Hopefully so. So that is our plan. We just wanted to update the city on what we're doing and our new board. Did you want to add 00:22:44
anything? Yeah, I, I think that we are looking to transition from the teams, the youth center to the Plaza sometime in May. And so 00:22:50
maybe we work. 00:22:56
Work with you to identify exactly what date would be accommodating for both the city and the farmers market. 00:23:03
And so that we can make that transition I our customers and our vendors are always so pretty open. We get to be outside and in the 00:23:09
spring weather, so. 00:23:14
How can we help do other things at the Plaza? 00:23:19
To get more vendors or the flow of traffic or. 00:23:22
Yeah. So I think a couple of things. Now that we have a new board that was last month, we voted in a complete new board to the 00:23:26
Squirrel Farmers Market. Many of the vendors I know I've been a vendor for. 00:23:31
Almost, I think five years now. And Ally, you've been there. I've been involved with the market for about 15 years. Oh, yeah. 00:23:36
So a brand new board and so we're we're looking at one is attracting more growers. 00:23:45
And so we're starting a campaign or advertising farmers and especially backyard growers. 00:23:52
And we're advertising that even day vendors are looking for, you know, even if you just have. 00:23:58
You know a few extra tomatoes or cucumbers one week. Everyone's perfectly welcome and to come and sell what they have or provide 00:24:05
their produce and donate it to the market and our vendors can sell for you or. 00:24:11
Donate their proceeds to the farmers market. So we're very flexible. 00:24:18
If you know any, any growers throughout the community, if you want to get involved, you know, we're, you know, we have an e-mail 00:24:22
and a website. 00:24:26
And, and definitely we're willing to work with anybody who wants to do that. 00:24:30
I know that that specific criteria. Can you explain that again because. 00:24:36
You know, we've had some problems with the vendors that can that perhaps weren't certified. 00:24:40
So what? What is the specific criteria to be a? 00:24:44
A vendor there. 00:24:48
Vendorship and the permits required depend on what you're selling for backyard growers. 00:24:53
It's you don't require a permit if you're selling products that you have produced at your home. 00:24:58
There your. 00:25:06
You have to sign you know the application on the day that you. 00:25:09
Arrive. You don't have to do it ahead of time. You can do it right there right before the market, and you can sell that day for 00:25:13
fruits and vegetables, things that you've grown. 00:25:17
At your own house. 00:25:21
If you are producing bread products. 00:25:23
Or pastries. 00:25:27
Or anything that has more process we can help walk you through. 00:25:29
The different permits that you. 00:25:33
Are required to get before you're able to sell. 00:25:35
And both I and the previous market manager are going to be available this. 00:25:39
Summer if anyone has questions about things that they'd like to sell. 00:25:44
And we can help you get your permits in order. 00:25:48
So that you can sell basically anything. 00:25:51
The New Mexico Farmers Market Association allows for a wide range of different things. 00:25:54
From you know. 00:26:00
From fruits and vegetables all the way to meat products, as long as they are, you know, USDA permitted. 00:26:02
OK. Yes, I just wanted to comment on a couple of things, I think since you're all new. 00:26:08
It's my understanding that you all have to come to the City Hall and get a permit right for the summer, so they. 00:26:14
If they know that you're going to be using the Plaza and they don't start booking other events at the same time. 00:26:19
And then I think the other concern was I don't know if it was so much the grass, it was more of. 00:26:24
Break into sprinkler heads. So those are just my 2 comments. 00:26:29
Thank you for letting us know. 00:26:33
Picking a grasp they have cannabis sales. 00:26:34
Is that if it's home, if it's homegrown or they have? 00:26:39
I know. 00:26:44
We've got enough. We've got enough stores up and down the street. I'm just thinking. 00:26:47
He's less permits than you need for dairy. 00:26:52
Well, thank you. Thanks for the work that you did. 00:26:54
There are some marked crosswalks. 00:27:02
That help? 00:27:04
You know, get people from on the Plaza to where they park. 00:27:06
11 customer. 00:27:10
Suggested to me that we put a crosswalk. 00:27:12
On each of the cardinal directions. 00:27:16
On the. 00:27:18
To so people have a place that they know is safe to walk. 00:27:20
There is one already. There's a crosswalk. 00:27:23
On the east side. 00:27:26
But that. 00:27:28
That striping could be. 00:27:30
Coordinated when they strike Monsignor S. 00:27:32
When the structures are already mobilized here. 00:27:35
Then we have a meeting last year with. 00:27:38
Somebody from the farmers market about that? 00:27:41
So we're going to do crosswalk also to the post office, and it was on the South side towards the courthouse and on the north side 00:27:44
where the sidewalk is with the bricks. 00:27:49
So I think we need to just refresh all that. 00:27:54
Yeah, great. Well, thanks. There's one on each of the cardinal directions. I think that'll give plenty of people. 00:27:57
Safe space to walk. 00:28:03
We can also alert drivers that there are walkers in the area because that's also. 00:28:05
Than a security concern, safety concern. 00:28:09
OK. And then do you, do we pick up your garbage or what do we do? 00:28:13
How do we do that? 00:28:17
At the end of your day or that everybody. 00:28:18
Take care of themselves. It is my understanding that we'll take care of our own garbage. 00:28:21
I don't know if they do, I don't know if they need it. I just. 00:28:28
I mean, we try not to leave a mess. Yeah, no, it's true. 00:28:31
Yeah. Well, we appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you for coming. 00:28:36
Thank you. 00:28:40
Every city has done for us. 00:28:40
Anyone else that's not on the agenda would like to make a comment? 00:28:42
We'll pass that along. 00:29:03
OK, we'll move on to this next item. 00:29:06
Which is the ordinance of the enemy refinance. 00:29:09
Who's going to tell me about that? This ordinance spearhead is here. That's the guy with a necktie. That's why you're here. 00:29:14
Hiding in the back. 00:29:21
Thank you Mayor, members of the Council, Chris from your head with Monroe Sperling firm. 00:29:22
For your bond council. 00:29:26
This is actually a remarkable deal that's come through here so. 00:29:28
This is a chance to refinance 4 of the city's outstanding debt obligations with the US Department of Agriculture. 00:29:32
That you entered into in 2021 and 2022. 00:29:39
At the time, those were actually very good deals in their own right. 00:29:43
They were for four million 950 at 1.75% interest over 40 years. 00:29:47
So very favorable. 00:29:53
1.475 million also 1.75 and in 20222.725 at 2.75. 00:29:55
And 540 at 1.75. 00:30:04
All over a four year period. So at the time those were very good deals you wouldn't be able to find. 00:30:07
A letter to give you 40 years at such a low rate so that that was a good deal to the USDA. Now what you have in front of you is 00:30:12
the Mexico Environment Department has offered to refinance those, pay all four of those off. 00:30:17
At an amount that is in your ordinance at 9 million. 00:30:24
Instead of here. 00:30:29
$9,283,437.55. 00:30:31
Over 25 years, and here's the great part at 0% interest. 00:30:35
So this is again a remarkable deal. 00:30:41
It is just to. 00:30:44
Remind you how those four other debts work? They're paid with net revenues from your joint utility system. 00:30:45
This new loan would also have a lien on your joint utility system net revenue, so you take care of operation and maintenance. Make 00:30:51
sure everything is running correctly. 00:30:55
The revenues left after that. 00:30:58
Or what used to pay debt service? 00:31:00
Just put it in context of what your ratepayers will save is. 00:31:03
The interest cost on the four USDA deals that are being refunded. 00:31:07
Over the next. 00:31:14
Till they're all four of them matured. 00:31:16
Was $4,007,983. 00:31:19
Obviously your interest costs on this loan is 0. 00:31:23
There is a 2%. 00:31:27
Refinance charge from the New Mexico Environment Department, which is 185,000 roughly. 00:31:28
So over the life of this loan and not having to pay the interest even though how it was a very good deal at the time. 00:31:34
On the four USDA loans. 00:31:40
The city will save 3,000,822 dollars, 8 million. 00:31:42
Three, 3,822,314. 00:31:47
So again. 00:31:51
Not any reason really. It's the same terms. In terms of what you're pledging, it's 25 years. 00:31:54
So what in effect, what you've been paying on the? 00:32:00
USDA debt is about. 00:32:04
$355,000 a year. This one is 366,000, so slightly up but entirely principled. No interest payments. 00:32:08
So again, it's a very favorable transaction that's going to save your great payers. 00:32:17
Significant money moving forward. Happy to answer any questions about it. 00:32:21
How do we get that for the? 00:32:26
Swimming pool, I guess I'm sure everybody's thinking about. 00:32:28
Got the fingers going in your. 00:32:33
I was sitting right behind him thinking they're not gonna let me leave when I just tell him that there's three ninety, $800,000 00:32:35
there. We just charges extra if you got to figure it out. Yeah, exactly 0%. We'll be more than happy to take that one. Yeah. So 00:32:40
that, in short, is what it is. Again, instead of the federal program to the USDA, state program to the Investment Environment 00:32:45
Department. 00:32:50
But again, very favorable. 00:32:55
Terms for the city. 00:32:57
Make a motion. We pass ordinance #25-03-25B. 00:33:00
Moved and seconded. Roll call please. 00:33:05
Councillor Travis Lopez. 00:33:07
Councillor Dean. 00:33:09
Councillor Fleming, Yes. Councillor Ocampo. Yes. Councillor Ogame. Yes. Councillor Partridge. Yes. Councillor Romero. Yes. 00:33:11
Councillor Salome. Yes. We do. It passes. Thank you so much for your help. Thank you. Thank you. 00:33:17
You're slowly, you know, being that the savings. 00:33:26
In the amount of savings that will be experienced throughout the city. 00:33:29
This council and this administration has been real good about trying to keep utility costs down whenever they can. Is there a 00:33:35
possibility that we may be able to share these savings with the utility rate payer? 00:33:42
Well, we'll leave it to the utility committee, too. 00:33:51
Yeah, I think, I think that'd be a good idea rather than not increasing it, maybe decreasing a little bit and the interest rate, 0 00:33:55
interest rates for how many years? 00:33:59
The other loans were at 40 so it reduces it but the zero interest. 00:34:06
Again resulting in that almost 4 million in savings to 0 interest for 25 years. 00:34:11
And then no prepayment. 00:34:16
Penalties. So although it's costing you nothing to borrow it, you could theoretically pay it off in ahead of the 25 years if you 00:34:18
choose to do that. 00:34:23
And the only caveat on this is and I'm not sure about the rules on the. 00:34:28
On the loan is that we are pledging our utility rates. 00:34:33
For payment, yes. So those changes if we were to, if we had the good fortune to try to change that. 00:34:37
I don't know what how that would excellent question. Let me just address that. So besides the USDA loans which were paid off. 00:34:44
The Enemy D loan which now is taking those places, there are some New Mexico Finance Authority transactions outstanding and some 00:34:52
other Enemy D loans in those loan agreements. 00:34:56
It does have great covenants. You have to make sure your net revenues. 00:35:00
Over like a 1.2 times or 1.3 times coverage to pay your debt service and have the delta of about 30. 00:35:05
Percent on top of that. 00:35:11
This. 00:35:12
Globally, and again, it's a city budget and the city utilities department discussion does reduce the costs. 00:35:15
Going forward. 00:35:22
Now how that impacts in terms of? 00:35:23
Number of users. 00:35:25
Quantity of use, other conservation major measures may bring down the use, so you're not bringing in as much that may balance out. 00:35:26
It's part of the bigger equation. But these existing loans and the enemy loan as well does have that coverage requirement that 00:35:32
your rates stay at that level and that they can if it ever dropped below and you could make that require you raise the rates. This 00:35:38
deal significantly helps you not have to worry about that. 00:35:44
But there are other outstanding debts and again in the world of conservation, in the world we live in. 00:35:50
That could cause your consumption to go down, which is a good thing. 00:35:54
But negatively that will reduce your net revenues coming in. And so you have to balance all that out that this is a positive that 00:35:58
helps. 00:36:01
Toward that discussion. 00:36:05
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Mayor. I'd also like to recognize our finance director, Ruby Lopez, who put all this together and 00:36:08
choose out beating the bushes trying to figure out how to save this money, which is what she does all the time. So. 00:36:14
I appreciate it. Don't you work for her too? 00:36:20
Well, yeah, thank you again. 00:36:27
No, I mean, this is great. OK, We're going to go on to the public. Everybody's still waiting. ICIP. 00:36:29
And that was it was done with ICIP stand for. 00:36:36
Infrastructure, capital improvement plans. There you go and we go into public hearing question mark Mr. Make a motion on a public 00:36:39
hearing for the ICIP public meeting. 00:36:43
Seconded. All in favor, I agree. 00:36:49
So we had a comment from the audience about. 00:36:51
Wanting to get an indoor. 00:36:55
At an auditorium type of thing. 00:36:58
If we just, if we just say it again, if you want to say that. 00:37:00
Since you're the Spoker spokesman. 00:37:04
Let's say that you have a. You have a group of people that would like to. 00:37:06
Invite the city to look for a way to get an indoor swimming pool that's. 00:37:12
Or you can say it your own way. 00:37:17
We would ideally love to have a cover over. 00:37:20
One of our pools. 00:37:25
And it would enhance. 00:37:29
The community and it would allow more participation. 00:37:31
Year round. 00:37:37
And you have several members here that would. 00:37:38
Support you, I know, I just want to put that in the minutes. 00:37:41
And of course. 00:37:44
I invited more people and tech people to come, but when they see the minutes, they might be more engaging. 00:37:45
But that's how it's done. I mean, we. 00:37:55
They have to have that kind of testimony. 00:37:57
Then bring it to our legislators and then go to the. 00:37:59
Legislature to look for money. 00:38:02
Could that be something that could be part of the City of Park improvement? 00:38:06
We could do that. I just I'm not sure how you're gonna wrap that around. I just I think they're talking about specifically that we 00:38:11
can. 00:38:14
Mr. Mayor. 00:38:19
Michelin, did you have a comment? 00:38:21
I know several years back the swim team came and asked about the same thing, and I know it was on our ACIP list at one point, but 00:38:23
I'm not seeing it on there so I don't know if it was combined with the. 00:38:28
Said the old park renovation. 00:38:34
Yeah, yes, there was about 10 years ago. I think it was actually on on the list itself. 00:38:36
And yes, it was combined when we got the funding to redesign Studio Park. 00:38:41
We put it in the same place. 00:38:46
It's just it's going to be a. 00:38:48
These are speaking for you on your behalf. 00:38:50
If there's a question of putting in an astroturf. 00:38:53
On the softball fields. 00:38:57
Or do an indoor swimming pool. That's where the rub is going to come. 00:39:00
Maybe it should be here saying that you want to have this as one of the priorities. That's the only reason I wouldn't. I mean, I'm 00:39:04
just saying speaking for them to wrap it into that. 00:39:09
There could be a stand alone thing. 00:39:15
I'm just whatever the council wants. I'm just saying that if you, if you have people come and say well we want Astroturf also for 00:39:17
those. 00:39:22
Which is million H million. 00:39:27
Where did you film? 00:39:29
We don't care about those children. 00:39:42
No, no, it'll be across. But you know, people have. 00:39:46
They come to the games and they have. 00:39:51
Parents, I mean, it's, it's not a fight amongst anybody. I'm just saying. 00:39:53
That's how money gets allocated. 00:39:57
We would like to cooperate any way we can. 00:40:00
So so whenever the the plannings do come into play. 00:40:05
It will be open to the public, right, so they can give their input on the plans as well for the Studio Park renovation. 00:40:10
Absolutely. 00:40:13
Yeah. And you know, you talk to your counselor without coming to the meeting, I mean. 00:40:17
Say which one they're interested in. 00:40:23
Customer doing we don't currently have. 00:40:24
Plans yet? Just this is still in talks for city apartment OK. 00:40:28
Put the lights up, but that's still refiguring the fields and things. 00:40:33
OK. 00:40:39
Yeah, the lecture. 00:40:41
Mr. Mayor, I do know that. 00:40:42
I mean, we kind of like shot for I was on the committee and we shot for the stars. We had them drop everything like multipurpose 00:40:45
facility. 00:40:49
With the Astro. 00:40:53
Not just for like a field, but everything, although it would be really difficult to get that kind of money. 00:40:55
And then we also drew it up with a cover over the pool. 00:41:01
And there were others. There were other things discussed. There were issues. 00:41:05
That the city's having with that pool. 00:41:09
And the cost to run it, which is which surprised me. 00:41:11
I couldn't, don't quote me on I don't remember the exact amount but we found cost from other small towns and what they paid. 00:41:16
But umm. 00:41:24
I do know that we did speak about it and so I think we shot for the stars with how the the. 00:41:25
The architects just drew it in there. 00:41:30
So I know, I know what's been on there and I don't know. Mr. Monetta, did you see? 00:41:33
Did I put it on there with my IC IP? I believe I did, so I I was under the impression it was with the. 00:41:38
Studio Park improvements, at least on a table. 00:41:43
I do not recall off the top of my head, but it's sitting on my desk right now, so I'll take a look in the morning. I think it was 00:41:46
because you and I won that committee, yeah. 00:41:51
Anyone else has a? 00:41:56
Priority of ICP. 00:41:58
And covers roads it covers. 00:42:01
The social projects. 00:42:05
What? 00:42:09
Did you have to bring that? 00:42:13
No, I think there's a Commission meeting on Tuesday. 00:42:16
Tell me about it. I mean, I've heard this. 00:42:23
Our limit, Our limit, Our lane. 00:42:25
One of the guys who were putting on speed rails must have a friend on the Commission. 00:42:36
But anyway. 00:42:42
OK, anyone else? We're going to go out of the public meeting, make a motion. We go back to regular session. Seconded. All in 00:42:43
favor. 00:42:46
Just noted that we have. 00:42:49
Overall plan for Studio Park, which does include renovation of the pool as a cover. 00:42:51
But we have people here that perhaps would want to put that first. 00:42:57
And if you have people that come from the other part, they'll. 00:43:00
We'll put that first, but you guys are here right now. 00:43:03
So we'll just talk about it like that. 00:43:06
Fair enough. 00:43:09
Thank you. And now if you want to take your creaky bones and leave, that's OK. 00:43:11
I know it's hard. I know. Pat, you're ready to go. 00:43:17
No, but thank you for coming and bringing that to our. Thank you. 00:43:22
I see that now. 00:43:32
And who are you talking to, Tech? Who do you talk to about the pool at Tech? 00:43:34
Is it Miss McGee? 00:43:39
It's in my clip again, OK. 00:43:41
So we'll look into that also. 00:43:43
Okey dokey. 00:43:48
We don't have any executive session. 00:43:52
I am, I am. I'm going to give you, I'm just sharing with you. This is a whole business. 00:43:55
Oh, the businessman. 00:44:01
These guys are going to be police officers. 00:44:05
I don't care another. 00:44:07
They want to know why you're being so quiet that you guys. 00:44:10
When it's true, your turn just. 00:44:14
But they're going to replace us. I mean, great, huh? 00:44:17
That's great. And the young lady's not going to be able to. 00:44:20
Mr. Mayor, I just have a quick announcement for new business. There's a pre matinee. 00:44:24
2:00 PM. 00:44:29
This weekend on the on the 19th, Saturday the 19th. 00:44:31
At the. 00:44:35
At the theater here in town, the Loma, they're going to do a we have a free matinee for the King and Kings movie for all kids to 00:44:36
go, free popcorn and everything. Anybody who would like to attend. 00:44:42
And the movie is. 00:44:49
The King of Kings, all right. 00:44:50
Oh, that's right. Come on, rub it. Rub that shine that apple. 00:44:55
Thank you. And this weekend is going to be. 00:45:05
Crowded, real big. And next weekend too. 00:45:09
High school radio. 00:45:15
Seriously, Conference. 00:45:17
The striders and writers, they're having a little 5K. 00:45:26
So what I just passed out to you guys is just a little overview of what we've had at the Dimension Center this year, what we've 00:45:31
made, what we've brought in, just kind of what we're looking at for that kind of stuff. 00:45:34
Last weekend we had the fishing Derby and it was cold. It was very cold, it was windy, it was snowing. It was quite an experience 00:45:39
for us. 00:45:43
Umm, regardless, we still had about 100 kids that showed up and all of the kids that showed up, since we did have low 00:45:47
participation numbers, they were able to give a free fishing pole to all the kids that showed up. So every kid that showed up got 00:45:52
a rod holder, a thing of bait, and a free fishing pole. 00:45:56
And then, as always, lunch was provided. The food was donated by Presbyterian, it was cooked by the Forget Me Not Veterans Park, 00:46:01
and all the kids got a free lunch. 00:46:05
Game and Fish was out there, they had a little archery set up for the kids, so all of the kids enjoyed that and overall it was a 00:46:11
pretty good day. Besides the weather it was it was a good turn out. 00:46:15
Awesome, awesome. What was the meeting you had this weekend? 00:46:20
Was it this was theirs? 00:46:22
State meeting. 00:46:24
At the Convention Center this last week, I had the alert conference in there and it was the alert conference. 00:46:26
But I gotta say, the convention center's been busy. The rodeo has been busy. 00:46:33
The RV park has been busy, so I think that's a good sign activity in town. 00:46:37
Yep. Good job. Thank you. Thank you. 00:46:43
Is there anyone else who wants to shine their apple? 00:46:46
Mike, how's the winds out there at the landfill? 00:46:49
I know Chris is going to want to get up there too. 00:46:58
The wind hasn't been that bad this year. I don't know. 00:47:03
Turned up for that, but. 00:47:05
We've had a few days. 00:47:08
Of course, it gets too bad, we shut down the laptop. 00:47:09
Safety reasons. 00:47:13
How are you doing with your new cell? 00:47:14
It's filling up. It's filling up, yeah. 00:47:18
We're doing good. We still have a long ways to go. 00:47:21
I won't be here by the time it fills up, so. 00:47:24
And how about new customers have you gotten you've got increased from different towns? I have Jersey wants to meet with us. 00:47:28
Start bringing their car, Julia. 00:47:36
We're getting Los Lunas Universal Atlanta. 00:47:38
Isn't that something? I mean, that's where we are making a little bit of money, yeah. 00:47:42
So that's a good thing. 00:47:46
But we spend a lot more than what we make, so no, I know. 00:47:48
But at least we control our own destiny with us. 00:47:54
But everything else is good. All the folks are running up and good. 00:47:57
Equipments up so. 00:48:00
Are we doing a clean up? 00:48:03
I've been talking to Cheyenne about getting some groups up there. We've had one group. 00:48:06
I know you're always helping people, Miss King. 00:48:13
Are we doing something like for Earth Day? Usually don't we do a spring pickup? I think they're doing that collection on Sunday 00:48:16
the 27th. 00:48:20
For each neighborhood, that's what I'm talking about. That's not till next month. We'll do that in May. The different quadrants, 00:48:26
right? 00:48:29
We'll set that up for. 00:48:34
Next one. 00:48:35
Any questions? 00:48:38
Thank you, Mike. Thank you. 00:48:40
Chris. 00:48:42
It's great. You know, he's got a lot of different hats that he wears now. 00:48:46
The one is at the schools. 00:48:49
Of course, code enforcement and also safety committee. Safety committee, Yeah, yeah. 00:48:52
Yeah, they're all going well. The school is doing good. There's fights in there. 00:48:58
But. 00:49:02
Yes, it's going good and now? 00:49:05
It's getting warmer. 00:49:07
That after everyone with some weeds. 00:49:10
How is your condemnation? 00:49:12
Court proceedings going on some of these places that are. 00:49:15
They're a lot better, I think, being the judge. 00:49:21
Found a group. 00:49:25
With just. 00:49:28
Getting ready, like the preparation for the courts. 00:49:30
I've been able to add. 00:49:34
A little more stuff that the judge is looking for, which would be. 00:49:36
Just logs of everything and pictures and. 00:49:41
I give a full packet. 00:49:46
Based on the case, you know, I put a package together. I'll take that to the judge and. 00:49:49
That's been working pretty well for us too, so. 00:49:55
Yeah. Any comments or anybody want to? 00:49:59
A neighbor making problems. 00:50:04
Nobody. OK, I think I'd like to say something. I've had a couple of people that have like called and asked about it and I've 00:50:08
explained to him the biggest issue is just contacting the folks. It's just finding out who owns it, who contacts it. Nobody wants 00:50:13
to penalize anybody, but. 00:50:18
You don't even know who to call. Yeah, they're not updated. 00:50:23
And I've had a couple people that have called me and I gave one of them your number. Hopefully they got ahold of you. 00:50:26
Yeah. So I think once they, once the community knows and understands we're trying to accomplish, I think everybody's for it. And 00:50:31
you're doing a great job, Chris. 00:50:35
Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. 00:50:39
That is something that. 00:50:41
Further sorry, sorry. 00:50:43
You're giving me the floor. 00:50:46
This and I've been talking, there's some software out there because a lot of the renters. 00:50:49
That are renting, don't live in support. We don't have any way of finding them. 00:50:53
So now when the renters come in to get utilities hooked up, we're gonna get the wind towards. 00:50:57
Information from the renter so we know how to get a hold of. 00:51:03
Yeah, yeah, that is the hardest part with the. 00:51:07
You know, older houses and abandoned houses is just trying to find someone that. 00:51:11
I can hold accountable. 00:51:17
So. 00:51:20
Mr. Salami. 00:51:26
Just, you know, the way that things are moving through. 00:51:27
With regard to the tariffs and the manufacturing in the United States. 00:51:31
I'm wondering if. 00:51:37
There's been any? 00:51:38
Any contacts or anybody contacting Socorro about using some of the industrial park facilities? 00:51:40
We have actually had an inquiry through. 00:51:54
What's the New Mexico attack? 00:52:03
So New Mexico tech. 00:52:05
To where we have the $700,000 where we can build this building. 00:52:07
And there's probably going to be two tenants and we're just getting a. 00:52:11
I think we've got a letter of intent for one. 00:52:15
And I can't tell you specifically what's going on, but we're going to be getting a letter of intent from the second one, so. 00:52:18
That we will be getting somebody at the industrial point. 00:52:24
Yeah. So, yeah. So we have some interest. 00:52:28
We haven't had any big interest from any big manufacturers. 00:52:32
Or anything like that. But we do have we have this. 00:52:35
That was brought to us through New Mexico. 00:52:39
Yep. Anyone else, Mike? 00:52:43
It's sitting there. 00:52:49
Pumping iron? What's going on? That's another hard job. 00:52:51
He comes in physically beat every morning. 00:52:56
We have the Easter egg hunt. 00:52:59
Like Sean said on Saturday. 00:53:01
We did 9000 eggs this year just to everything being a bunch of kids, the rodeo, all that. 00:53:04
Samantha Vivian and her students at the high school. How are you with that So. 00:53:10
Big thank you to them. What came first, the rabbit or the egg? 00:53:13
And then I had to get that in Marianne. 00:53:21
Adult volleyball has been going on Monday and Wednesday. We have 14 teams for that, so it's been running smooth. Older people, 00:53:24
yeah, sorry, are they making it through the games? 00:53:29
14 that's great and then. 00:53:35
Kids baseball is going to be taken off May 19th. Our numbers increase. We went from 270 last year to about 3:30 this year, so. 00:53:40
Well, congratulations for reviving all that. 00:53:47
City volleyball team won the game yet. 00:53:51
How did the basketball season go? 00:53:53
It was good. 00:54:02
Over 200 or so honey. 00:54:04
Wonderful, wonderful. 00:54:08
Good job. 00:54:10
The two chiefs. 00:54:11
You know I've got something in front of you since Lawrence is coming up. 00:54:14
I just wanted to give you the accurate figures of what's going on. 00:54:17
You see the billing from 2019? These are. 00:54:22
These are. 00:54:26
Certified Figures. 00:54:28
And it shows how. 00:54:30
The collections are coming in. 00:54:32
You can see who collections. 00:54:34
On the each side in town. 00:54:37
And transfers. 00:54:39
Which are very healthy. 00:54:40
The amount billed. 00:54:43
And in in town. 00:54:46
332. 00:54:48
Collection 249. 00:54:49
Transfer Bill 275. 00:54:52
Collect the 249. 00:54:56
The one of the metal is the out of town. 00:54:58
Bill 327. 00:55:03
Collected 73. 00:55:05
That's the one that's kind of causing us some discomfort. 00:55:08
And this is county only or is does it include Maglina? 00:55:14
It's probably include magazines out of town. 00:55:18
Yeah. 00:55:22
And does it include? 00:55:23
Like transfers from the hospital to another hospital under transfer, OK. 00:55:25
The transfer alone are fairly healthy. 00:55:30
OK, it's this out of town and it does include? 00:55:33
I mean, I'm not sure how many. 00:55:37
I can break that out later. 00:55:39
But I just want to show you that I just wanted to give these are certified through Amana. 00:55:40
And Ruby. 00:55:45
So this this is just for. 00:55:46
Just, uh. 00:55:49
To give you, I don't know when that meeting is going to occur, Mary Ann, but. 00:55:50
And have you guys heard anything? Because nobody. 00:55:54
And then Lawrence, go ahead. You you met with Vern at the hospital and. 00:55:59
Other things going on, and I met with Vern at the hospital. She just wanted to kind of clear up some. 00:56:04
Set up the rumor wheel that was going on about. 00:56:10
You know, possibly HI coming in with a. 00:56:12
With our critical care ambulance service coming in to do those transports. 00:56:15
She is talking to Phi and it's a possibility that Phi does come back and stations a helicopter here. 00:56:20
But that's just that's just in the conversations now. It's not, it's not for sure. 00:56:27
Because the other possibility is that they station in volatile. 00:56:31
Because they're making that new hospital in Los Lunas, I believe. 00:56:34
So that's the other possibility. So she just wanted to clear up the room and all that. 00:56:38
You know, that's what was going on. 00:56:42
Yeah, I mean like like the mayor said. 00:56:45
That the chancellor is very healthy. That's where we make the majority of our. 00:56:47
Our revenue. So it's the calls that we get called out to the county. 00:56:52
A lot of time it like 7080% of the time we get called out there and we're not, we're not transporting. They refuse so. 00:56:56
That's where the that's where the class comes from. 00:57:03
So do we need to reach out to the county? 00:57:07
You know I. 00:57:11
Get out to your. 00:57:14
It's not who's not paying any rent. They need to reach out to us and say hey. 00:57:16
You know, because you I made a public statement that we appointed 2 people. 00:57:20
I think you left messages. 00:57:24
But you know. 00:57:27
I can only keep moving on if you want me to just stop and. 00:57:29
And continue to swallow. Almost. 00:57:33
200 and. 00:57:36
Whatever. Thousand. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying. 00:57:37
But I'm just saying. 00:57:43
I'm just saying that that. 00:57:45
The comment is what do we reach? We reached out to them. 00:57:47
And and we need some positive movement. 00:57:51
Yeah. The problem, the problem with that is we can't afford to stop because. 00:57:54
We're still running. 00:58:00
Racket every day. I mean we. 00:58:02
Just just so you guys know, just in the last three weeks, we've even responded to Eleanor three times. 00:58:03
So and then Valencia called us this morning to see if we would take one of their calls in real communities. 00:58:09
They didn't have a unit available. 00:58:14
So we need to do something because one. 00:58:17
We're leaving the town unmanned. 00:58:20
Times, and not only that, to my staff. 00:58:22
Getting tired of running and running and running and. 00:58:26
You know, they're just constantly running. So we just got before somebody gets hurt or. 00:58:29
A lawsuit, and this has been going on for a long time, correct? 00:58:34
Wait, wait long. Wait too long. Wait. And you know, and because I think it even was happening when Joe was the chief. 00:58:38
It's just we've locked up that nothing happened. Thank you, Chief. With that being said, I just want to let you guys know. 00:58:46
We didn't start our. 00:58:57
Remodeling of the fire station we start the window. Guy was there today doing some windows. 00:58:59
We got a grant for 500,000, so we're going to upgrade the. 00:59:04
The facility there, we're going to reroof it. We went all the windows, we stuck with remodel the kitchen, there's a bunch of stuff 00:59:07
that's going to be going on so. 00:59:11
On top of that I have a 5 or 6. 00:59:15
EMT is going they're they're enrolled in the EMT intermediate class, which is held at the hospital at the. 00:59:19
The hospital's putting on. 00:59:25
So we got six guys in that class, so hopefully they'll get certified and. 00:59:26
Will be, you know, fully certified at that point. 00:59:30
Thank you. 00:59:35
Well, we, you know, it's getting warmer, so we're seeing a lot more activity in the afternoons. 00:59:46
Things are going on. Guys are a little bit more busier. 00:59:52
During the Evening Times and. 00:59:55
We are running short. 00:59:58
We had a guy leave about. 00:59:59
Two weeks ago and here we have another guy he's possibly going to be. 01:00:01
Looking man, go back home as well. 01:00:05
There are two gentlemen that we interviewed. 01:00:08
You'll hear from them shortly and introduce them. 01:00:11
We have new. 01:00:15
I earned 9000 they they went away with 8000. We got two guys that are certified to man that. 01:00:17
And just continue education for the officers that are. 01:00:23
Are on duty to have to get their certifications. They're doing those through. 01:00:28
Online classes as well. 01:00:33
So we do have a million three. 01:00:36
Start working on the police station, right? And then we have another 240,000. 01:00:39
For new police cars, so that we're looking forward to that, so that that's something that. 01:00:44
Obviously it's going to need a lot more to get the police station up, but it's. 01:00:49
Looking good and the playground next to it is. 01:00:53
Looking good. We're trying to separate that away so the public can use the playground also. 01:00:56
But it's coming together with that. 01:01:00
Right. Thank you. 01:01:04
Thank you, Chief. 01:01:05
OK, that, that is executive session next. We're not going to have that, are we? 01:01:06
Personnel changes I have Jeremy department. 01:01:13
I. 01:01:20
Police completed probation. Harrison Richardson. 01:01:22
Yes, Mr. Richardson. 01:01:26
And Ben and Liam Chavez. 01:01:28
Mr. Chavez. 01:01:30
Go into the Police Department and we appreciate you guys. 01:01:32
And we have Benjamin Davila. 01:01:40
At the fire and Railina Guerra that the police resigned. 01:01:42
Mr. I'll make a motion to approve the personnel changes as follows. Second. 01:01:47
Someone seconded discussion. 01:01:55
Thank you again for joining our Police Department. 01:01:57
And all in favor, aye. 01:02:00
Now we have the. 01:02:04
Water and ice store are being sold. 01:02:06
Christy Harris. 01:02:09
OK, Jamie. Yard Service, Luis Lopez, Jamie. 01:02:12
Or Jaime Sadio. 01:02:17
And Sunshine Shop. 01:02:18
That was Robert Oppenheimer. Was that the gentleman that was here? 01:02:20
Hidden state leisure engraving and collectiles. 01:02:24
To make make a motion to approve the business registrations. 01:02:28
Thank you. 01:02:33
But in secondary discussion on. 01:02:34
We're into May already. We're not going to be here. 01:02:36
May 6th but. 01:02:41
Marianne can run the show. 01:02:43
We all live in town to go to Las Vegas. 01:02:45
CS GO, it's all yours. 01:02:50
I'm going to connect you again for sitting through that. Thank you. 01:02:51
Somebody we can commit. 01:03:09
Hello. 01:03:25
I'm glad you're talking to them. 01:03:32
OK. Thank you. Thank you. 01:03:38
So how's it going? 01:03:41
I know that's what I want the judge. Thank you, Mike. 01:03:42
Good turn on. 01:03:48
Yeah, I've been, I've been watching there and it looks good. 01:03:50
New equipment. 01:03:54
Get up there, I want to run stare. 01:03:57
