	And then on top of that, they're doing their own little goodies that they're doing for their employees and product, and that's	00:04:48

	And we have to look for services that we are providing the people of Socorro.	00:05:00

	Their rebuttal was they were going to give us and I have Mr.	00:05:13

	But they were talking about dropping it to two.	00:05:21
	And then they wanted us to go to the.	00:05:24
	Jail, which is fraught with problems as you just realize what happened in the.	00:05:26
	And the jail just recently about lawsuit.	00:05:30
	They wanted us to be.	00:05:33
	The providers for the jail as far as the empty services were concerned.	00:05:35
	And I was unwilling to do that.	00:05:39
	They said that they would be willing to pay for two EMT's. That's what they said.	00:05:43
	But with these with these extra.	00:05:48
	Things that they wanted not done. Was there more than that?	00:05:51
	Yes, one thing.	00:05:55
	I don't recall every paragraph is 3 pages long, but one thing that caught my eye is they're proposing that if they're 30% of our	00:05:57
	calls that they control 30% of our income.	00:06:02
	And I thought that was pretty interesting because we don't even if there's 30% of our calls, we don't collect 100% of that 30%.	00:06:08
	So first of all, they shouldn't be asking to control our budget and asking for too much, even if we said yes to that.	00:06:15

	Compare that to a guy living for free in my house.	00:06:26
	And telling me how am I charging rent to other people?	00:06:29
	What kind of money that we're getting?	00:06:32
	I just don't know why they're in a position to do that and then.	00:06:34

	Income that we generate, they're more than half. I'm more than happy to have them have it set up their own ambulance service.	00:06:40

	And then the other thing that said that it's a limited amount of time that they'll be committing to this.	00:07:24
	They have to do it in perpetuity.	00:07:28

	Ordinance or resolution so that they don't say, well, it was just four years, then we have to think about it again.	00:07:33
	That's just to me, it's not going to work.	00:07:39

	For the county manager to come and start negotiating with the City Council before the administration.	00:12:10
	Have some sort of a plan from them as to how that we can sit down and accept.	00:12:15

	On top of that, they've already had meetings about how we can support the dispatch without getting paid.	00:12:28

	county was there MOU that was originally signed or was there was it a handshake deal or what was the.	00:12:46
	Or is it required by law that we maintain the entire area?	00:12:53

	Volunteering from city administration to increase our service area to capture county.	00:13:01
	And all of Socorro County.	00:13:08

	Provide the ambulance service other than it was voluntarily.	00:13:39

	Would have to be an ordinance I would have to go through or how would an ordinance it goes through a department transportation?	00:13:47
	We've already have. We've been successful in Katherine County.	00:13:53
	We haven't heard anything back yet, but we've already did. Lena did send off the paperwork. It is. It is up to the Department of	00:13:56
	Transportation, Special Bureau of Ambulance, EMS service or whatever they call it.	00:14:02
	To say yes or no, Yeah.	00:14:08
	They may have hearings, but but it's not a. It's not a.	00:14:11
	It's not a state statute. It's not a state thing.	00:14:16
	Or anything that the city can, I mean.	00:14:20
	We request a decrease in our service area, which we are.	00:14:23
	Right now by law have to support, we have to service it.	00:14:28
	So that is a fact. So so the intent is going to be that we know we have a.	00:14:32
	A document stating exactly what?	00:14:37
	Our responsibilities are going to be and who's going to pay for what and all that. Is that what the goal is going to be right now?	00:14:39

	One issue with the department transportation that we have this large service area.	00:14:48

	Of our EMT. So they'll have to, yeah, we'll have to have the council and the county Commission agree to that.	00:15:17
	Yeah. So basically it's no more. It wouldn't be. We're agreeing this verbally, in a way, this. Now we have that, we'll have	00:15:25
	everything laid out on paper. Yeah, Mr. Partridge.	00:15:30
	That we're gonna The idea is that if they do not help provide 3 three additional staff.	00:15:36
	That it would just be the city limits only as the areas that our ambulance and EMT service would serve. That's what I'm	00:15:43
	suggesting.	00:15:47
	Unless there's an agreement made with Magdalene SA.	00:15:51
	Well, with who? The county.	00:15:55
	Just to see just the village of Magdalena. What if they say they'll support?	00:15:58

	If they were to support one EMT.	00:16:03
	You know, I know that Magdalena's finances.	00:16:07
	And they're in no position to support $80,000.	00:16:13
	Or EMT.	00:16:17
	However, and that's I have to divulge a whole bunch of other negotiations.	00:16:18

	They can help us. They have a brand new ambulance sitting there.	00:16:26
	They have some.	00:16:30
	Political clout with the Representative Armstrong who serves that area.	00:16:32
	For us to get future ambulances.	00:16:37
	So I would ask them to help us.	00:16:39
	Acquire ambulances in the future.	00:16:42
	And perhaps let us use their new ambulance that they have there and trade us for an older one that they can have if they need it.	00:16:45
	But again, I'm kind of.	00:16:51
	That's two different tracks.	00:16:53
	It's not the same track as.	00:16:55
	How you can afford this? I can tell you right now looking at their finances.	00:16:58
	That they're divested the the senior centers and they've turned them over to us. We're even in Vegita.	00:17:01

	You know, we're just being too charitable about everything.	00:17:09
	So I know the county has the finances to support 3 EMTs.	00:17:13
	I don't think Magdalena has it.	00:17:20
	The money to support even one AMT.	00:17:22
	And so we, you know, we're going to work on need. I think that's how we would do it.	00:17:24
	Bottom bottom line is I think, I don't think anybody wants to cut out services, but we have to do something.	00:17:30
	In order to keep up with what the call volume and what we what we got going on right now, we don't have enough people.	00:17:36
	To handle that call volume and three people is going to help, but it's not going to fix the problem. That's just a minimum.	00:17:43
	I've already contacted the dot to kind of got.	00:17:49
	You know what we need to do and.	00:17:52
	They're under the agreement with us too, as well. You know, all these other different counties and cities have started their	00:17:55
	county departments.	00:17:58

	Bottom line is we just in order to give the.	00:18:07
	The best service to our community.	00:18:10
	We need more people to keep up with Luna County and Deming.	00:18:13

	Those are the two counties I know are doing it. I don't know if other counties are doing it.	00:18:23

	You know, we do in a facility transfers, we take two guys out of town for three to four hours. That leaves us with two or three	00:20:07
	people back covering the whole county.	00:20:11

	You know we get 2 calls out to the Gita now we have nobody in town.	00:20:15
	It's just a matter of time before something happens. Well, we're going to be liable.	00:20:19
