Good evening and thank you for the opportunity to speak with you today. My name is Carrie. I want to thank the city and. 00:10:32
At Council and the city for their support in last year's community BBQ. 00:10:38

Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to working with you again to make this event a continued to ask for 00:11:24
our community. 00:11:27
You're going to have it where you have a city apt, a Plaza. 00:11:30
Video Park. 00:11:33
You've had this, you've had it before. 00:11:35
Yes, this will be our fifth annual. 00:11:38
As can be as Vio Park May 31st. 00:11:40
The time is still. 00:11:43
Being negotiated, but I believe it's going to be. 00:11:45
11:00 to 3:00 again. 00:11:47
Well, when I've always helped you, I think for having volunteers do this. 00:11:49
It's fantastic. 00:11:52
But I think the captain, mayor. 00:11:54
So everybody support the. 00:11:57
The Seven was supported. 00:11:59
You know, just let us know what kind of. 00:12:01
Budget you'll have and what kind of. 00:12:03
Support. You need a park. 00:12:06
We will be renting. 00:12:09
The location again. 00:12:11
We are asking for help in creating Flyers again. 00:12:13
And helping to announce it to the city on the website and on Facebook pages. 00:12:17
On the event calendar and things like that, if that's possible. 00:12:22
Sure. And I would like to see all of you guys come and shake hands with people and. 00:12:25
Come and experience it for yourselves as well. 00:12:29
Well, get with Lena and. 00:12:31
She can. We can get a. 00:12:33
That's just set up. 00:12:35
2 wasn't that bad. 00:12:37
I'm so glad have anxiety. 00:12:41
No, you're fine. You did good. Thank you. Good. Thank you for doing this. Thank you. 00:12:42
Mrs. Ocampo. 00:12:46
Mayor Bhaskar, City Councilors, thank you for for allowing me to be here. 00:12:56
I'm here representing the. 00:13:00
Of Crumple Family Food Drive that occurred on December the 20th. 00:13:01
Thanks to your advisors, generosity and your support, we were able to hand out. 00:13:05
Our support over 250 families in our county. 00:13:12
We had. 00:13:17
Several different agencies and. 00:13:19
People collaborate with us and we were able this time we were able to cover the whole county, so we had. 00:13:22
About uh. 00:13:30
40 to 50 deliveries. 00:13:31
In Alamo, Magdalena and. 00:13:34
Nikita and about 12 in the in the city. 00:13:36
For for those who are not able to access transportation and so we were able to kind of. 00:13:39
Get a whole gamut of families that needed it. 00:13:45
We appreciate all, you know, again all the the support we had. 00:13:49
So many people and agencies. 00:13:53
Come together I I could. 00:13:55
You know, not name them all, but I would like to to name a few of them, of course, like you guys, the city of Socorro, the Police 00:13:58
Department and the Sheriff's Department. They were a huge. 00:14:03
Part of this. 00:14:08
And so I'd like to. 00:14:09
Personally think you guys and those agencies, Socorro Consolidated Schools, we did. 00:14:10
Family or food drives with. 00:14:16
Families and students. 00:14:18
And they had like. 00:14:20
A competition and they had got a pizza party and it was really cool to see everybody kind of collaborate. So Coral Storehouse was 00:14:22
really instrumental in that. 00:14:27
The Haramiel family, Toby and Ermey's. 00:14:33
Family who had. 00:14:36
Who did this food drive for 50 years, literally 50 years before we took it over? They were really generous and they always show 00:14:38
their support and. 00:14:43
They like kind of rally behind us and, and get. 00:14:48
You know people to to support us as well, so I'd like to thank them. 00:14:51
The Shoal family. 00:14:54
Scope and 100% community or Socorro community. 00:14:55
Committee they were. 00:14:59
They provided. 00:15:01
Resources in the food basket. So I thought that was a really cool thing. Not only do these families. 00:15:03
Get food. 00:15:08
In their baskets, but they also get community resources and we'd like next year we'd like to even expand that a little bit more. 00:15:09
Get you know our agencies to put their information. 00:15:16
In in the basket so that. 00:15:19
Families can be able to access resources. I think we have a lot of resources in So Coral. 00:15:21
And and they just need, you know, to access them And so the scope committee and 100% community. 00:15:26
Committee contributed to that. John Brooks has always really. 00:15:33
Supportive of us. 00:15:38
Our delivery elves. 00:15:39
Just like family members and community members, there are elves and they they go out and they. 00:15:42
Deliver the food and it's it's like that is a really helpful thing, especially, you know, we kind of on an over overlooking thing, 00:15:48
but. 00:15:52
To those families who don't have access to transportation, it's everything, right? And so we had a few families who called us at 00:15:56
the last minute and they said I have no way to get there. And our delivery elves. 00:16:01
Spring into action and they made it happen. So that's always really, really awesome. 00:16:07
Our on site volunteers, the San Miguel Youth Group. 00:16:11
They these are high school kids. 00:16:15
You know, freshman all the way to seniors and they. 00:16:18
Again, spring into action and they like kind of took over my job. I had to go. 00:16:23
You know, I was. I was, you know. 00:16:28
Doing my thing and I had to leave to go do something else and they just. 00:16:30
Like just got right in and they they did it so. 00:16:34
Our on site volunteers are really instrumental as well. 00:16:37
And and again, just you guys, we're so appreciative to like sending out the the. 00:16:41
Notifications beforehand to. 00:16:47
Obviously the turkeys and and all of that, it's we really couldn't do it without you. So thank you so much. 00:16:49
Well, we want to thank the Ocampo family for taking over. 00:16:55
The Haramir drive. 00:16:58
The work that you guys did. 00:17:00
I mean, that's that's a big task. 00:17:01
And I want to point out that you had Turkey Bingo, I think it was Michael Padilla. That was a good one. 00:17:03
Yeah, that was a good addition. It's a labor of love, but it's but you while you guys, that's fantastic. 00:17:08
Fantastic that you're doing it. 00:17:14
I'll just say Mr. Mayor, Kathleen does. 00:17:20
You got a lion's share of all the work so. 00:17:22
We're thankful for her and and one one family. And I know it's hard to because once you name a family, it's just because you want 00:17:24
to leave anybody out. 00:17:28
But. 00:17:32
I wanted to one of the. 00:17:33
Families that kind of goes under the radar and just helps. 00:17:35
And the reason I'm bringing them up is I. 00:17:38
I heard Coach Baca. 00:17:40
Lawrence Baca talked about the. 00:17:44
The the the BBQ for the fire department and the gums were instant instrumental there. 00:17:46
They're also instrumental with us too. It's like. 00:17:52
They just show up and help and I think they're representative. 00:17:55
All these other families, family members in town that are just willing to get up and do it. 00:17:57
I mean my in laws and. 00:18:02
My folks and everybody there say hey, tell us what to do. 00:18:04
And so you know, we're. 00:18:06
We're pretty fortunate to be in a community like this that steps up with Toby and what you guys took over. 00:18:08
It's one of the events in Sakura. 00:18:14
I mean, is one of the events, I think that's. 00:18:16
Fantastic, it's carried on. 00:18:19
So thank you very much for doing that. 00:18:22
Thank you guys. 00:18:25
So anyone else would like to make? 00:18:32
A comment. 00:18:34
You know, these boys didn't want to say something. Yeah. 00:18:37
And Polo left before he could see anything. What's going on? 00:18:44
OK, Grandma. 00:18:49
Bye bye. 00:18:50
Alrighty, we shall go to the resolutions that you have to do every year. 00:18:54
And these are 26-01-06A. 00:19:00
BC and D. 00:19:05
And if you want to take them all at one time, they're basically standard open meetings. 00:19:07
Governing body rules of procedure so we're not nasty to each other. 00:19:11
Purchasing policy resolution. So Polo keeps us. 00:19:15
Legal and the CDMG certifications of commitment. 00:19:18
Commitments. 00:19:21
And we have to have for HUD. 00:19:22
When we apply for grants. 00:19:24
Mr. Mayor Romel. 00:19:27
I move we approve a resolution #26-01-068. 00:19:28
Resolution #26-01. 00:19:35
That's 06. 00:19:38
Resolution number Dash 26-01-0. 00:19:40
60 and resolution #26 Dash. 00:19:44
0106, D. 00:19:48
Second, I second. 00:19:51
Moved and seconded discussion. 00:19:52
All in favor. 00:19:54
We're all the way down to new business. 00:19:57
We are going to go to the. 00:20:00
Legislature. 00:20:02
And City Day will be on the 29th. 00:20:04
Tech days on the same day at the Roundhouse. 00:20:09
And so I don't know if we want to be there, but if they allow us to come. 00:20:12
Will go, but then. 00:20:16
At the La Posada. 00:20:17
At 6:00. 00:20:19
On the 29th. 00:20:21
There will be a. 00:20:24
Is it going to be a tri-county again? 00:20:25
It'll be tri-county with. 00:20:27
Sierra, Socorro and Kettering County. 00:20:30
And that's the 29th of January 29th. 00:20:33
That was the January 29th, 29th. 00:20:38
A confusing old man. Don't be doing that. 00:20:41
But anyway, it is the 29th and. 00:20:45
So we are going to. 00:20:47
Present our legislators. 00:20:49
For the legislative session is a 30 day session. 00:20:51
So at the money session and. 00:20:55
We're asking for the police station. 00:20:57
Continued phasing it in. 00:20:59
And the last phase of Finley? 00:21:01
So those are the two things that we're. 00:21:04
We're going to be asking for and so. 00:21:06
If uh. 00:21:08
If you have. 00:21:10
Contacts and the legisl. 00:21:11
Legislature. 00:21:15
We appreciate you going there. 00:21:16
We will have some lobbyists that we've had last time. 00:21:18
We'll still do that. 00:21:21
We have a lot of other projects going on in the city and for your benefit. 00:21:24
I can name a few and if you have any questions about any of those. 00:21:28
We just finished Manzanaras. 00:21:32
They did also streets around the courthouse. 00:21:34
At the rodeo. 00:21:38
We just finished the clubhouse, which will have. 00:21:40
Showers and. 00:21:42
Laundry and. 00:21:44
And. 00:21:45
We're finishing a house there for a caretaker. 00:21:46
We also finished. 00:21:50
The system, the sound system in there. 00:21:52
We also just put in an air conditioning. 00:21:55
In the in the rodeo arena. 00:21:58
It's it's evaporative. 00:22:00
But we'll see how it works out. 00:22:02
Have you got a chance to go there? It's pretty. 00:22:04
Pretty big. I'm Mariana, just seen. 00:22:07
You see the big yeah? 00:22:09
Yeah. So that's that's getting done. 00:22:10
We are just. 00:22:14
Changing out the. 00:22:15
Filter press at the plant. 00:22:17
The airport is getting a. 00:22:19
As snow removal if we ever get any snow equipment. 00:22:21
Garage We're still working on trying to get the. 00:22:26
Money spent for Finley right now, you've seen the. 00:22:30
Sitting area and all that coming up. 00:22:33
We'll be getting a. 00:22:36
Parking lot put in. 00:22:37
What did I miss? What? 00:22:40
The natural gas field. 00:22:42
Will be done. That's a $2 million project. 00:22:45
Cuba Rd. 00:22:49
Cuba Rd. Cuba Rd. We're just waiting for the highway department. 00:22:51
That's a $2 million project to finish it out. 00:22:54
What else the. 00:22:58
The other thing that we have, and I've got Linda here. 00:23:00
Kind of giving us a. 00:23:03
A report on the Senior Center. 00:23:05
And kind of tell us about the problems we've been having at Vegeta. 00:23:07
And and some of the things that. 00:23:11
Since we have our eminent new City Council is also a county commissioner. 00:23:13
Want to want to just give us a little? 00:23:17
Review of the problem? Well, just about your. 00:23:20
First of all, but. 00:23:23
How great your? 00:23:24
Senior Center has been, it's been great. We had a good. 00:23:26
Christmas, you know, we had. 00:23:30
Events like a. 00:23:32
Let's see, with some donations from the Socorro Catholic Church, they gave out some presents to our seniors. 00:23:34
We have some goodies made by D Russell with Your Mama's cakes and more. She baked a lot of goodies for fajita so they had some 00:23:40
good stuff to eat. 00:23:44
We'll start off with the electrical box in the ether which was coming off the wall. That's been taken care of by Lloyd's crew, so 00:23:49
that's taken care of. 00:23:53
We did have to move a gas line over, which has been done as well. 00:23:57
But when they move that line. 00:24:02
It did something to the heater and so we're having problems with the heating now. 00:24:04
So, umm. 00:24:07
Who are hopefully getting parts in to get that fixed. 00:24:08
By the end of the week. 00:24:11
Um, let's see. 00:24:13
Septic system. I did talk to Lloyd on Monday and he's working on the plan for that. 00:24:17
So as soon as we get that going, then we'll give it to the environmental department to approve and then we can start doing our 00:24:22
phases and get that taken care of. We don't know the cost of the project yet, so. 00:24:28
We will definitely be using. 00:24:35
Non-metro AAA for the emergency capital outlay to kind of help out with that project. 00:24:38
And as well as the county to ask for their assistance as well. 00:24:43
When you say help out, does that mean to cover the 100%? 00:24:47
Of some of the. 00:24:51
I'm not sure how much they will give us, we would have to apply and see. 00:24:52
You know how much? 00:24:56
But do we own that building? 00:24:58
We don't own that building, no. 00:24:59
At least. 00:25:02
It's leased for four years, I believe, from the county. 00:25:03
Yes, but they don't have any. 00:25:06
They don't have any responsibility about making that. 00:25:09
They gave all the responsibility to us when we signed the lease. 00:25:12
OK, yes. So how many people are you serving out there? 00:25:15
We have, I want to say, at least 60 people. 00:25:19
Most of them are home delivered and we have about 20 of them. 00:25:22
That are eating inside. 00:25:26
Center. 00:25:27
Dollars. When's the funding cycle for the capital outlay influence? 00:25:31
We're working on that now. 00:25:35
You know when it runs though. 00:25:36
I'm not sure. 00:25:38
I'll give it with you. 00:25:40
OK. Does it, does it make any difference to AAA whether we own it or not, where we asked to improve it? 00:25:41
They haven't asked for anything. 00:25:47
Do we have to ask the counties? 00:25:49
OK to do that. 00:25:51
Any of it. 00:25:53
I think the county manager at the time had said he left all that up to us to do. 00:25:55
But we are keeping them posted on changes that we were making in the center or whatever needed to be done. 00:26:01
So to answer that question directly. 00:26:07
When we're dealing with the environment department in some contractors like electricians and things that they will not work on the 00:26:10
building. 00:26:13
Or the property unless. 00:26:17
They have the permission of the owner. 00:26:19
So then we have to get the. 00:26:22
Permission of the county to make these improvements. 00:26:23
I guess my question to the county is going to be whether we. 00:26:26
Continue giving that service outside the city limits. 00:26:29
And using our. 00:26:32
Our people and also have to maintain that building. 00:26:34
If we would then ask them to. 00:26:39
Turn the building over to us as owners. 00:26:41
That's what I was going to say. You know, can we approach the county? 00:26:43
So they can donate. 00:26:47
The property and the building. 00:26:49
We're lucky to have Mr. Gonzalez here. 00:26:50
This is the first I hear of this, no? 00:26:53
I already looked into the little bit. 00:26:57
The ownership of that. 00:27:01
Building from my recollection has to do with. 00:27:02
The property belongs to. 00:27:06
Whoever owns Boys Ranch out there. Oh really? 00:27:08
And for? 00:27:10
The county continued. 00:27:12
Having the facility that it would have to be a. 00:27:14
Benefit to the community. 00:27:17
Which in that case was a senior citizen. 00:27:18
So I think under all of that we can probably just. 00:27:20
Work on translating it. 00:27:23
Transferring it over to the city under the same. 00:27:25
I'm I'm thinking on niche land. 00:27:27
Yeah, in perpetuity. I mean, I don't know what perpetuity you're giving. 00:27:29
Yeah. So I'm thinking. 00:27:39
That's gonna be. 00:27:40
My approach to the. 00:27:42
As a manager. 00:27:44
To see. 00:27:45
The transfer of the. 00:27:47
Land can go to the city. 00:27:48
Therefore. 00:27:50
Nobody's hands are tightest through ownership and that type of thing to get the funding them. 00:27:51
That would not be the same as if the county was delivering. 00:27:56
That program to the. 00:28:00
It would be the same. 00:28:02
Yeah. So we basically. 00:28:03
If we hadn't given that would have had to revert back to the Boys Ranch. 00:28:05
Yes, that started. 00:28:09
If you had started doing that, I. 00:28:12
If I remember correctly. 00:28:15
When the city is going to take over the. 00:28:17
Senior program. 00:28:20
That was a question that we asked. 00:28:21
The boy's ranch. 00:28:23
As long as that's going on. 00:28:25
But it never. 00:28:26
Gave ownership. 00:28:27
To the city of the building. 00:28:29
So you're operating? 00:28:31
Under the same. 00:28:33
Requirements that the county was. 00:28:35
But the ownership is still. 00:28:38
For the county, so that's. 00:28:40
Since that's who the. 00:28:41
Title arrangement was made with is with the county and not not the city. 00:28:43
So as far as. 00:28:48
The actual ownership of it. 00:28:49
It would have to be. 00:28:51
I think and as Mary Ann suggested. 00:28:52
We need to change that. 00:28:55
Relationship. Umm. 00:28:56
Right in the city instead of the county. 00:28:58
So we can do that, I think. 00:29:01
I think we need to that way we can take ownership of it and. 00:29:03
Really expend city funds. 00:29:06
Buying a heater or a? 00:29:10
Are getting a septic tank paid for? 00:29:12
It's our labor and a. 00:29:16
Our time from city employees going out. 00:29:18
To work on it. 00:29:20
Correct. 00:29:22
So and Linda, who's? 00:29:23
Basically city employee. 00:29:25
Great. Thank you. Thanks, President. 00:29:28
Continue good work. 00:29:30
Mr. You guys, Mr. 00:29:32
He listed all the things that are going. Is there any way we could? 00:29:34
Get a list of that. 00:29:38
Just of all of the. 00:29:38
Projects that are going on, I mean, I'm sure. 00:29:41
Yeah, Yeah. That would be helpful. That's a lot going on. Just when people ask us, we can. 00:29:44
To give you and give you an explanation of each. 00:29:50
Each project. Thank you, Mr. We'll get that. 00:29:53
Thank you. Just for the benefit of the new city councillors or. 00:29:55
Is there anything you guys want to add, Mike? 00:29:59
Mr. Mayor, before we move on. 00:30:03
I'd just like to inform the councillors that we're meeting with the engineers tomorrow at 11 to get updated on the projects 00:30:06
they're helping us with. Not the in-house projects, but the stuff that requires engineering. 00:30:11
Thank you. 00:30:17
Engine. 00:30:18
Just wanted to give an update. 00:30:22
Still cleaning houses, burnt houses. 00:30:26
And in what dumb side? 00:30:28
Stuff like that. 00:30:30
I do want to say. 00:30:32
Huggy, his crew, I wanted to thank them. They've helped me out a lot. 00:30:34
Cleaning up the. 00:30:38
The house is the landfill and and Chief Barker. 00:30:39
I'll come in with the list. We got a list of houses, trouble houses, A. 00:30:43
Yeah, Can we do with that trailer that burned out there? 00:30:48
In which they're working on it, yeah. 00:30:51
It's getting an owner. 00:30:52
Yeah, yeah. 00:30:54
Well, it's a long story, but yes, so. 00:30:55
I know the long story. Why don't you tell everybody else a long story? Yeah. 00:31:00
They didn't belong to the people that live there. 00:31:06
We figured that out. 00:31:08
The owner. 00:31:09
Was contacted. 00:31:11
And I brought to Mr. Willis, or is it belong to my son? 00:31:12
No one now. 00:31:17
It's it's it's really knowing now it's getting destroyed so. 00:31:19
But nobody. 00:31:23
Says they own that property. 00:31:24
The property, yeah, now, now it's owned by the person next door. 00:31:26
Who? Umm. 00:31:31
You know, it's kind of been helping me out, kind of like my eyes, but. 00:31:32
She she ended up buying it so now. 00:31:36
She asked for a chance to clean it up and she's made some pretty good progress. 00:31:39
So I hadn't had to. 00:31:42
And use city money I guess, to clean it up. 00:31:46
She's just been cleaning it up herself. She's had vehicles. 00:31:48
And she's demoing that trailer and stuff, so. 00:31:52
Yeah, she's cleaning it up. 00:31:55
And she lives there. 00:31:57
She was right next door. 00:31:58
So she was pretty happy to to get the property and start cleaning it up. Well, sure, but then we're going to clean it up for that. 00:31:59
Yeah, huh. 00:32:06
Or not. She she, she is. I know. 00:32:08
How's she going to get those I beams out of there? 00:32:10
She she's. 00:32:13
Maybe if you do deals with some people. So she's quite savvy. She's a. 00:32:14
So clean it up and it seems like she's not really spending any money doing it so. 00:32:19
That works out and then. 00:32:23
Then we're going to move on to the. 00:32:25
Burnt house across street from the cemetery that should be coming up. 00:32:28
And of course, Huggy and his cruising helped me out with that. 00:32:31
How's the calendar grant? 00:32:34
Great, we got dumpsters now we moved them from. 00:32:36
Where they were by Shady Nook and Blue Canyon, now they're at. 00:32:41
Gravel pits and on the corner of Manzaness and Main. 00:32:45
So. 00:32:48
Anyone that needs to throw some trash I mean. 00:32:50
Are they getting full? 00:32:52
Yes, they are. 00:32:53
But please don't throw tires in there. 00:32:55
Please. But yeah, anything else? 00:32:58
I hope you yell at me, you won't even notice. 00:33:02
So on those dumpsters, are they clearly? 00:33:07
The purpose of them and what to take and what we won't take. 00:33:10
Yeah, yeah, there's signs. 00:33:14
There's there's not supposed to be a. 00:33:16
You know, construction, demolition and metals tires. 00:33:18
But we do have some signs up. 00:33:22
They are Valley sanitation dumpsters. 00:33:25
We're just, I guess, renting them. 00:33:28
But yeah. 00:33:30
Their future over at Sands. 00:33:32
Is there something going to eventually happen there as far as I think Marshall is saying that? 00:33:34
They're gonna have. 00:33:39
They've already started I think this year actually. So they're. 00:33:40
Taking the recycling there. 00:33:44
Coonies out there. 00:33:45
He'll get all that and he'll haul it off to the. 00:33:47
Albuquerque can have it recycled and again, can we have some signage there? 00:33:50
Sure. Reminding people when we're there, picking up. 00:33:54
Yeah, I'm sure we can do that. 00:33:56
Father, I was heading up towards the cemeteries with somebody who needed to show me something. 00:33:58
You had people that were climbing all over and through that dumpster. 00:34:06
That's on the way up. 00:34:12
Yeah, during the daytime, yeah. 00:34:14
Yeah. No, it's, it's been. 00:34:16
We just got to keep an eye on it and we've had actually, that's another person. I need to thank you, Angel, because he's been 00:34:18
helping us out with law enforcement. 00:34:22
You know, patrolling them. 00:34:25
We did have some people throwing some stuff out. 00:34:27
But. 00:34:29
We caught him in the act and we asked him to put it back. 00:34:30
They did. 00:34:34
So. 00:34:35
Yeah. 00:34:37
Thank you, Chris. Thank you for all your good work. 00:34:42
Mike, is that your? 00:34:45
Speech. Good job. 00:34:47
You know, we want to thank your crew for working Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's. 00:34:51
And they come and pick up the garbage. They really should be congratulated. Yes, very much so. 00:34:57
Thank you. We're just going to mention that. 00:35:02
I'm very proud of my guys for doing what they do. 00:35:07
So we continue to. 00:35:09
Work the landfill, pick up garbage, pick up recycling, do. 00:35:13
It's like there. 00:35:17
We asked the people not to throw medals and tires and stuff because. 00:35:21
We're gonna end up with it at the landfill, and then we have to separate it and we have to. 00:35:24
Because if you've been to the landfill, there's separation. 00:35:28
There's a pile of floor battles. There's a pile for tires. There's a pile. 00:35:32
Different things. 00:35:35
So it just makes my guys work double. 00:35:36
So thank you for. 00:35:40
Thank you, Mike. Michael. 00:35:44
How's your closure? Are you are you doing? 00:35:46
Are you doing a closure? Is it done? 00:35:48
We're we're still trying to finish the closure. 00:35:50
It's just that. 00:35:54
I know it's an operation out there. 00:35:55
You go visit operation. 00:35:58
Welcome anybody who wants to go for a tour. 00:36:01
No, I've said it before. I. 00:36:05
Done. Construction alarms up. 00:36:07
Joe's done construction. We have a nice landfill. 00:36:09
I mean, Rio Rancho was awful. You got to drive over trash to throw trash. It's a disaster. 00:36:11
The trucks destroyed small towns that have their own landfill that you can go to. 00:36:16
No, it's clean, it's organized. I don't know if you've been to other landfills, but. 00:36:20
We're pretty blessed here. You guys do a great job. It's terrible. We've been to some pretty bad ones. 00:36:24
I carry the truck up and. 00:36:29
It's still one question that I ignorance. 00:36:31
Are those actual seagulls out there in the winter? They are. 00:36:33
Yeah, yeah. It's like. 00:36:36
The last OK. 00:36:39
Yeah, we get them every year, but I don't know where. 00:36:42
Yeah, they they, they lost. 00:36:44
The blind, I guess. 00:36:46
But as far as the equipment, everything's up and running. 00:36:50
What's up with the tires? 00:36:52
I put a hold on them for now because we don't want to get in trouble with. 00:36:55
We're getting a. 00:36:58
Are we getting a? 00:36:59
Tire shredder, uh. 00:37:01
Hopefully, uh. 00:37:02
Hopefully someday, yes. 00:37:03
I'm looking into it, yes. 00:37:05
OK for renting one? I'm not renting 1 yet but. 00:37:06
I still got my guys building tires. 00:37:10
We still need to finish that tire boom that we're building. 00:37:12
But once we finish that, then we're going to be stuck with a lot of tires. 00:37:15
And yeah, it'd be nice to get a shredder so we can actually use the shreds. 00:37:19
On the garbage to cover. 00:37:22
OK. Thank you. 00:37:25
Thank you, Baka. 00:37:26
You want to introduce your. 00:37:29
Mayor Council, thank you guys for having us. 00:37:42
I'd like to introduce what you guys know. 00:37:45
Daniel Pacheco. He's now the. 00:37:47
The new assistant chief. 00:37:49
We brought that position back. 00:37:52
Because we went. 00:37:56
To six man crews now and that that was part of a. 00:37:57
The policy is we went to the six man crews, we would be able to bring that position back so. 00:38:00
That was thanks to the county. 00:38:05
Thanks to the county as well. Exactly. So, yeah. So that's working out really well. Our overtimes cut down a lot. 00:38:06
You know, having them here, having them in the office. 00:38:13
Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00, eight to four. 00:38:16
There's going to be a lot of help. 00:38:18
You know, with the everyday. 00:38:20
Stuff that goes on inspections, you know, just. 00:38:22
Although there's so many annual inspections that we have to do every year, whether it's pump tests. 00:38:25
Matter tests just every ISO, you know, just everything. So he's going to be a lot of help. 00:38:31
In the office with all that stuff, so. 00:38:36
You got a lot of experience he's been there for. 00:38:38
Almost 19 years now, so he's been there for a while. 00:38:41
And we talk about transition and that's what I'm looking to do. 00:38:44
It's not set in stone yet, but. 00:38:47
You're crying today, not today. 00:38:49
Well, I'm hoping to do it in December. 00:38:52
So that's part of why we're trying to get him going and. 00:38:54
This. 00:38:57
I want to thank. 00:38:58
Lawrence's crew and stuff. We had a fire at our farm. 00:39:00
Over the weekend or on Friday, right? 00:39:03
And they were right there helping out, doing everything. So thank you guys for everything. 00:39:06
Thank you Assistant for great help. 00:39:11
So it might be a little bias. 00:39:14
But it's when you said. 00:39:17
Down here I was 19 years. He's one of the. 00:39:20
Guys, I heard a long time ago. 00:39:23
You know, and then Lawrence. 00:39:24
Handiwork for us, and I was. 00:39:27
He was on my ship just. 00:39:29
And this first day was very interesting. Outlines, yeah. 00:39:30
Yeah. But and then I did see the personnel changes, the other guy that's stepping up and. 00:39:34
Getting promoted because of the structure that. 00:39:39
It's at the fire department is good to see it's a. 00:39:41
Just a minute compliment to the city that they're. 00:39:44
Have that insight and they know that there are. 00:39:47
Very important resource for the. 00:39:49
Citizen Citizens. 00:39:51
How's your remodeling? 00:39:53
And we're, we're, we're, we're finishing that up. We're doing some painting right now. And that's then. 00:39:54
We're waiting for for some. 00:39:59
Station furniture to come in and that should be the last of it. 00:40:00
We got a $500,000 grant for upgrades in that building. 00:40:03
For for those of you guys that. 00:40:06
Don't know. You probably do know, but. 00:40:08
That building very old have buildings over. 00:40:10
107 years old so. 00:40:13
We had to. We roofed it, we put windows, we stuck with it. We remodeled the bathroom, bathrooms, kitchen. 00:40:14
Stuff like that. So it's just looks really nice. 00:40:22
That buildings that old but it. 00:40:25
If you if you go in, it really doesn't look that old. 00:40:27
And ambulances? How about the ambulance? 00:40:30
Ambulances should be here in a week or two. 00:40:32
So that's still on. 00:40:34
They still say it's on time, so we should be seeing that in a couple years. We still have that one ambulance down so. 00:40:36
It's going to be healthy in that that nine months. 00:40:42
And I'd like to end it with just thanking my crew. 00:40:46
Because again, they don't, they don't have any days off either through the holidays and all that stuff. They're working 24/7 and. 00:40:48
And they do a wonderful job. So thank my crew for that and. 00:40:53
Any questions are great. 00:40:57
Great to have you. Thank you. Thank you. 00:41:01
You got your God. 00:41:08
Any news from HR and insurance is the. 00:41:10
The new deal. 00:41:15
So, umm. 00:41:18
Vision insurance did change from Imed to David Vision. 00:41:22
So everybody who has that should have received new cards. If not, I have the contact information and I can pass it along. 00:41:26
So they did assure us that the benefits are very, very similar. There wasn't a drop in in benefits. 00:41:33
Umm, and July 1, I think there's going to be an increase. 00:41:42
I think they talked about. 00:41:46
A 10%. 00:41:47
So that one's going to be a little rough since we're coming off of a 24% increase last year. 00:41:49
And that's pretty much it. 00:41:55
Doing the end of quarter, I told Mr. Solomon the end of quarter, end of year and before the 1st payroll processes. So I've been in 00:41:58
my office drilling away. 00:42:02
Good times. 00:42:07
Get W2's out before the end of January, probably between the two payrolls so. 00:42:08
I'll send out a robocall. 00:42:13
Saying that they're ready to the employees. 00:42:15
Very good. Thank you. Thank you. 00:42:17
We are about. 00:42:20
$600,000 less. 00:42:22
For the first six months. 00:42:25
Compared to last year's gross receipts. 00:42:27
Which were robust. I mean, we had great groceries. 00:42:29
So just to let you know that we're. 00:42:32
It's not getting. 00:42:34
Mr. Partridge. 00:42:37
Without, I mean, a little ignorant to it still. 00:42:39
What does that compare to? Maybe like on a? 00:42:42
Not so robust year. 00:42:44
If last year was a robust year. 00:42:46
It's a previous thing how? 00:42:48
How far are we up? Yes, you. 00:42:50
It probably gets you even with two years ago. 00:42:53
Unless you were just doing this. 00:42:57
Last 2-3 years has been. 00:42:59
Hadn't been bad. 00:43:01
Yeah, before COVID is when. 00:43:02
You would say we're even. 00:43:04
What about border specs? 00:43:06
The largest tax actually is stable. 00:43:08
It's actually. 00:43:11
When I looked at the number, it's it's. 00:43:13
Actually, even. 00:43:16
Distinction even we get about 500,000 almost. 00:43:18
And it's about even. 00:43:23
But we don't know what's going on with first responders. 00:43:26
And I'm not sure exactly. 00:43:30
And then we had a bad. 00:43:33
Festival of the Cranes and we lost the Trinity site. 00:43:35
So those were things that. 00:43:39
But they're. 00:43:40
It's it. Let's see if it'll. 00:43:41
Pick up again. 00:43:43
Old business. 00:43:46
Got the water issue resolved. I mean, I spoke to you about it, but. 00:43:49
Did they seem to figure? 00:43:54
So. 00:43:56
I can't point any fingers right now. 00:43:59
But it appears that we had foreign water. 00:44:02
Get put into our water system. 00:44:05
We sent the samples of water. 00:44:08
From this one source. 00:44:10
And the source coming out of the. 00:44:12
Our water lines and it was almost similar. 00:44:15
But there was no toxins. 00:44:18
There is no bacteria or path. 00:44:20
Pathogenic stuff. 00:44:22
In the water. 00:44:24
And so that is getting resolved at this time. 00:44:25
The people who have. 00:44:29
We thought caused the problem or looking into it right now. 00:44:32
But that was resolved. 00:44:36
Then we had a big leap here on California St. 00:44:37
10 inch. 00:44:41
Was it iron pipe that broke? 00:44:43
So it left us a single luckily. 00:44:46
I don't know. 00:44:49
How did they find the? 00:44:50
Because there was a hole was only about this big, but underneath there was a lot of bigger this. 00:44:52
So luckily we didn't have a cargo in there. 00:44:56
But they they fix that. 00:45:00
But you know, I mean, it happens all over Albuquerque. It just, it just happens. 00:45:02
But that's. 00:45:07
Thank you man. 00:45:09
That was that. And you know. 00:45:10
I I got sworn in in 1984. 00:45:13
When this thing, it just makes you wonder what the heck happened to the time. 00:45:17
I know. 00:45:21
But it's it's definitely changed. It was in the old. 00:45:22
Here's the old City Hall. 00:45:26
Over there by the where the transportation was. 00:45:28
And the safe the safest when we had a. 00:45:31
We had executive session. 00:45:34
We got in there one time with one of the contractors. 00:45:36
And who was their engineer actually and. 00:45:38
The fire done so I remember those days when. 00:45:40
That was a. There's a. 00:45:45
That's 51 years. 00:45:46
So anyway, executive session, Anybody wants to air their dirty laundry? 00:45:50
Private. 00:45:57
No, we don't have any dirty laundry. 00:45:58
OK, so we're. 00:46:00
Almost finished with this meeting. 00:46:01
It's kind of exciting to come back to. 00:46:03
A new deal here. Let me see, Mr. Fleming. I'm kind of. 00:46:06
Haphazard here. 00:46:10
This is the. 00:46:11
Then Bert, Bert, Bert. 00:46:13
Albert Personnel. 00:46:16
This is Bert Guerrero. 00:46:19
At the landfill, he has retired. 00:46:21
Mr. Mayor. 00:46:24
Mr. Romero, Mr. Partridge, I'll make a motion to. 00:46:25
Accept the personnel changes as read. 00:46:28
The second of discussion, all in favor. 00:46:32
Aye, and here we are with businesses, as you noticed. 00:46:34
I don't think Gazelle is a chain. I don't know if it's going to keep the same name. 00:46:39
But it got sold. 00:46:43
The old Motel 6. 00:46:45
And 807 US 85 Chintan Patel. 00:46:47
As we call it. 00:46:52
Hotel by Patel. That's the. 00:46:53
That's so we're great. We've got a building that's empty. 00:46:56
And Victoria had that on RadioShack lot. 00:46:59
They want to make a location prepped at Community Kitchen. 00:47:03
What? 00:47:07
They take their. 00:47:09
From the Community Kitchen and sell it at the RadioShack. 00:47:10
That's pretty good. 00:47:13
But she does her prep at the community kitchen. 00:47:16
Because I told her she had to go out of the ground. 00:47:20
He tore. 00:47:23
Yeah. 00:47:29
Does the environmental department come around anymore and stick the thermometers in the food? 00:47:30
And so I recommended the hell. 00:47:36
That's cool. No, that's cool. So she's cooking over. 00:47:44
Oh great. 00:47:47
Michael and find out exactly. Wow, great. 00:47:49
That's the two we got. 00:47:54
Mr. Mayor. Mr. Partners. 00:47:55
Make a motion. We approve the business registrations as read. 00:47:57
And 2nd that discussion all in favor. 00:48:00
Aye. 00:48:04
And we got another meeting on the 20th of January. 00:48:05
That is what is Monday the 19th is when legislature starts. 00:48:09
It's the next Easter that's a holiday. 00:48:15
Oh, that's right. 00:48:17
Is it Juneteenth? 00:48:18
Thank you. 00:48:26
Councillor Gonzalez. 00:48:28
