I played actually against. 00:00:28
Would you have? 00:00:33
Patient. 00:00:35
Ignore. 00:00:36
E-mail. 00:00:43
There. 00:00:44
Pets. 00:00:45
Make a motion, we do the. 00:00:46
The Minutes of the. 00:00:49
Look at that and the Ender. 00:00:50
Second moved and seconded discussion. 00:00:53
All in favor. 00:00:56
You didn't notice that the CNG garbage truck budget resolution is in there. 00:00:58
That's almost How much is that, really? 00:01:02
Yeah, so. 00:01:08
910,000, so just to let you know. 00:01:10
Uh, so OK, public forum. We have Cody Johnson with us. Socorros Stingray Swim team. 00:01:13
Everybody. 00:01:21
That's my boy. 00:01:24
Hi, I'm Cody Johnson. I'm the head coach and. 00:01:28
Thank you. 00:01:32
Um. 00:01:34
So I'm the head coach and the pool manager at a pool. 00:01:35
First off, I'd like to thank the city. 00:01:38
For all the support they given us, give us a place to swim. 00:01:41
And paid for our coaches to lifeguard. So let's give a round of applause. 00:01:44
Thank you. 00:01:48
We have a little thank you gift for the councillors. 00:01:53
Kids, they're gonna hand out. 00:01:55
Hopefully. So we have a few of our kids here. We're missing quite a bit of them because school started, but that's OK. So 00:01:57
throughout the season we we we were able to serve 50 some kids in Socorro and at our home meet we were able to serve around 120 00:02:04
kids from around New Mexico. We had over 200 people as parents, coaches and swimmers in the pool. 00:02:10
So that was pretty nice. 00:02:18
So the kids are bringing you a thank you card and a duck. So this year? 00:02:21
Good job guys. 00:02:26
Um, it's something I said. How you doing, Mr. Savedra? Thank you. Thank you. 00:02:27
Thank you, man. 00:02:34
Gilson, how are you doing? 00:02:36
Thank you. 00:02:39
Some. 00:02:40
Just as we're walking, sharing the thank you have. Thank you. 00:02:43
Give it to the mayor. 00:02:51
We got, we got, I got one. 00:02:53
I had this for you. 00:03:03
Thank you. Thank you very much. 00:03:05
Right. 00:03:11
The packet. 00:03:13
How do you get? Why don't you bring all your people up so we can get a picture? So I also have one more thing. 00:03:14
So Ryan, Christine, right here. So she got third place, high point overall at finals, which is absolutely amazing. 00:03:21
So we have this award for. 00:03:27
We placed fifth overall finals which. 00:03:34
Is the best we've ever done tied with last year, so that's pretty amazing. 00:03:37
And all except all except six more swimmers that swam a district qualified for finals. How many teams were there overall? 00:03:40
There's only. 00:03:47
8 As of right now, seven or eight. The league used to be at 16, but COVID kind of brought it down and working on rebuilding. 00:03:48
Ohh well. 00:03:56
So we we'd like to have everybody come up here if there was that way. Nice picture on TV and come on. 00:03:56
Except. 00:04:06
And. 00:04:10
Here. 00:04:12
Even. 00:04:13
Really productive ohh and all the way back. 00:04:16
Then take a look that way. 00:04:20
There you go. 00:04:22
Come on. 00:04:23
Come on. 00:04:25
Accept. 00:04:26
Yeah, we'll still stand up behind him, yeah. 00:04:27
And we're very proud of you for what you guys did and, you know, continue to. 00:04:41
Hopefully. 00:04:46
Next summer and. 00:04:48
Anybody going to be in the chilly? 00:04:49
Alright, hold on. So we do, I mean, a team? 00:04:52
So we have several youth swimmers and we have a team of Stingray swimmers that are actually going to swim in the adult one. That's 00:04:57
great. That's really terrific. 00:05:01
So. 00:05:08
Well, I think you guys did well and likewise really did well. We were really happy with the way they. 00:05:10
Handle the swimming pool and the. 00:05:16
Really terrific. 00:05:18
And hopefully we'll see you next year. 00:05:19
Thank you again. Alright, thank you. Thank you. 00:05:21
I would like to ask the swim team how they like the new facility. 00:05:29
Uh. 00:05:34
So it looks really nice. It was definitely an improvement from some previous years our deck was falling apart. 00:05:35
The bathrooms were in bad shape. 00:05:41
But the money went to some good improvements. 00:05:43
And I'm hoping we can continue to rebuild the pool. 00:05:45
So thank you guys, History as Councillor Campo. 00:05:50
I know you guys were really beating the bushes hard to find kids this summer to to be lifeguards. How did that go and. 00:05:52
So in total I, including my head guard and myself, we had 11 lifeguards and staff. All my coaches are lifeguards and they all. 00:06:00
Help lifeguard during open swim. 00:06:08
Um, he barely had enough to open. 00:06:10
But hopefully rebuilding the program, it'll get us some more kids swim and are part of the program to come life out for us. 00:06:13
I have more going in next year. That's the plan. Everything goes, yeah. 00:06:20
Great job, great job, you know, and I will tell you, Mr. Fleming. 00:06:26
Cody, thank you for all the hard work. And there's the young lady standing out in the hall that does an awful lot of hard work 00:06:29
too. 00:06:32
Yeah. 00:06:36
I think my mom shopped about 11:00 and we really couldn't have done it without it. 00:06:37
Yeah, come on. 00:06:41
That's my girl, Yes. 00:06:46
Good job, great. And and don't be that you have to stay. You guys can go if you'd like. 00:06:50
Thank you. Thank you again. Thank you. Thank you. 00:06:55
Better racing kids. 00:06:59
Thank you. 00:07:02
Let's see anyone who else's. 00:07:10
Would like to make a comment that's. 00:07:13
Not on the agenda. 00:07:15
More than happy to hear that. 00:07:17
All right. We will go on. And we have Municipal Judge Joseph Gutierrez. 00:07:21
On the agenda at the next. 00:07:27
Item. 00:07:29
Good evening councillors. 00:07:35
I wanted to address the calendars today in reference to the. 00:07:37
Custodial. 00:07:41
Ohh. 00:07:42
That we have with the city. 00:07:43
Ohh. 00:07:45
We were given an e-mail that all facility contracts would be. 00:07:46
Terminated. 00:07:49
And then I'm gonna. 00:07:50
We went through the process of. 00:07:51
The city hiring apparently two people. 00:07:53
And during that time I had emails. 00:07:56
Discussions with the mayor and Lena Chavis. 00:08:00
On wanting a background check on individuals coming to. 00:08:04
Through Municipal Court. 00:08:08
Yeah. 00:08:10
Because we have personal information on individuals. 00:08:11
In the court and we don't want anybody to gain access to that personal information. 00:08:15
And. 00:08:20
I just would like a background check on the individuals that are going to be working within the court and I was denied that the. 00:08:23
The background check. 00:08:31
And then I later found out that apparently the custodial. 00:08:33
For the City Hall here. 00:08:37
That they still have custodial services through a contract. 00:08:39
So I was wondering why? 00:08:43
That is different from. 00:08:45
Municipal Court. 00:08:47
Because apparently in this e-mail says. 00:08:49
Ohh considering contracts will be terminated. 00:08:52
So that's I'm just wondering why? 00:08:55
City Hall has one than we do. 00:08:58
Super on that, but I think judge you're at the wrong place. 00:09:06
City Council has no. 00:09:09
Input on personnel matters, OK? 00:09:11
Well, I just wanted. I just wanted to bring it to their attention. Want to finish. I'm gonna finish. 00:09:14
I'd make the administrative decisions. 00:09:19
And you have not talked to me at all face to face about this? 00:09:22
And you bringing it up here I think is an odd place for you to do that to. 00:09:26
Kind of air all the problems and and talk about people's background checks that are very. 00:09:30
Very, very, very confidential. I have your e-mail here and and. 00:09:35
I find that really difficult to deal with when it comes to. 00:09:40
Personnel matters. 00:09:44
And how do we? 00:09:46
To the administration and the courts. 00:09:47
You're the judge. You you do. Your, your, your. 00:09:49
Duties the judge. 00:09:52
But we take care of the Municipal Court as far as the facilities concerned and what we do in the facility if you're unhappy with 00:09:53
what we're doing. 00:09:57
For the custodial janitorial staff. 00:10:01
And how we did it. 00:10:04
We'll be more than happy to discuss that. 00:10:05
In my offices. 00:10:08
OK, well. 00:10:09
According to the e-mail you sent me. 00:10:11
I just assumed that it was. 00:10:14
No more discussion. 00:10:17
And that's why I brought it to the attention of the City Council. Well, the City Council has no. 00:10:18
I just wanted to bring it standing when it comes to personnel, OK, matters and changes and for you to air that out in public, I'll 00:10:23
be more than happy to also talk up, talk about your budget and the shortfalls, what's happening with the Municipal Court at this 00:10:28
present time. We can certainly do that in public also if you'd like. 00:10:33
That's fine with me. That's what you choose to do. You've got the budget right in front of me and you have a big shortfall. 00:10:38
And your budget? We're providing you over. 00:10:43
100 and. 00:10:45
30,000 and we're just at 40,000 as far as revenue is concerned and. 00:10:48
We're trying to be very conscious about the budgets. 00:10:53
And how we're dealing with the budgets and. 00:10:56
The court is one of the things where we really are losing a lot of. 00:10:58
Uh. 00:11:02
Money as far as? 00:11:03
The. The. 00:11:05
The revenue coming in for the expenditures we're making. 00:11:06
And also some of the cases we're getting from code enforcement, we're not getting any follow up as far as once you. 00:11:09
Make a judgment. 00:11:14
The people are still out there doing what they're doing, so. 00:11:16
Our code enforcement. I have two code enforcement officers. 00:11:18
Who are really bringing? 00:11:21
A different. 00:11:23
Types of problems to your court and we're not getting anywhere. 00:11:24
For that either but that's you know that that's conditional process go to that I have to follow. 00:11:28
So during that judicial process, I have to give him the opportunity to clean it up. 00:11:32
And then if they don't do that, then. 00:11:37
Pretty much I give a quote order. 00:11:39
For them to pay. And if they don't pay? 00:11:41
Then we follow another process of. 00:11:44
But they don't pay them. 00:11:47
Warnings issued. 00:11:49
And then if it weren't issued, we it's basically. 00:11:51
We're standing by until. 00:11:54
That is is done and we can't follow through on anything else. And so that's completed. 00:11:56
So if the. 00:12:01
Code enforcement officer wants to come by and get information where the case sits they can. They're walking to do that, no matter 00:12:04
of fact. 00:12:07
Mr. Carrillo came in today asking about it. 00:12:11
A court case and we gave him the information and where it stood. 00:12:14
And the one individual that came. 00:12:18
That he was talking about had a warrant for her arrest because she hasn't paid the city fines. 00:12:20
So there's there's only so much a court can do. 00:12:25
And then ask for the revenue coming in for the court. 00:12:27
Where is busy as the Police Department, whatever the Police Department giving us or the city code enforcement officers give us. 00:12:32
So, and apparently as far as I was, as I was told during my training, we're not here to make money for the city, We're here to do 00:12:38
what we can for the people of Socorro and being as fair as possible. And that's what I've been trying to do. 00:12:44
Are your hours 8 hours a day for five days a week? 00:12:51
So the court is open between 8:00 and 3:30. 00:12:55
I'm there between 9:00 and 3:00 o'clock. 00:12:58
Well, we close between 8:00 and 12:00. 00:13:02
On Fridays. 00:13:06
Mr. Courier brought me 4 cases. Two of them were the same person. 00:13:07
And and she had there evidently a warrant out for her arrest. Right. But we have, I think. 00:13:12
More than just the four cases that we have on. 00:13:18
Code violations. 00:13:21
That we haven't moved on and even though there's been some decisions made in your court. 00:13:22
We have not been following up on those decisions to see if people actually executed what they were supposed to be doing. I don't 00:13:27
know if the courts are doing that or you expect us to do that. There's been a lack of communication on that like we have. We have. 00:13:31
I have my notes on the file. 00:13:36
And I give a 30 day, usually a 30 day notice. 00:13:41
Or or give them 30 days to fix the issue. 00:13:46
On their property. 00:13:50
And then? 00:13:52
With the after talking with the subpoena them into court. 00:13:53
Then they'll give us the status of where they're whether they're trying to clean it up or not. 00:13:58
So. 00:14:02
And I guess I gotta work a little closer with the code enforcement officers to make sure they're. 00:14:04
Following through and going by and checking on these properties. 00:14:09
So after 30 days, they come back into the court. 00:14:12
Let's see if there's a process. 00:14:14
Than actually trying to make a commitment and cleaning up the area. 00:14:17
And if they are, they might grant them another 30 days. 00:14:21
I learned from my first court appearance on the. 00:14:24
Violations with the city, with weeds, debris and everything else. 00:14:26
I went a little too long on. That was my first. 00:14:31
Code violation or reference to that. So now I pretty much put my foot down on. 00:14:35
Until it's one extension and if they don't fulfill it after that that extension, they get fined. 00:14:42
And then that's how I follow through on that. 00:14:48
And yet, after that, they don't like my decision. They still have the right to appeal it too. 00:14:50
District Court. 00:14:55
So if they pull it, the District Court. 00:14:56
Then. 00:14:59
Whatever decision they give, they should come back and give it to us. Whether they come and get back and give it to us is another 00:15:00
story. 00:15:03
So they have to provide provide proof. 00:15:07
That they got paperwork to go before the District Court and if they don't show up with that paper within the the 15 days, then we 00:15:10
assume they're not going to District Court and we follow through on what was. 00:15:15
The court has. 00:15:21
Ohh. 00:15:23
What did I decided to have them do in the first place? 00:15:24
So that they don't fulfill that agreement with the court. 00:15:28
Then they have to pay the fines. 00:15:30
And if they don't pay their fine, then we have to shout out of warrants. 00:15:32
And that, and you know how that goes. 00:15:35
It depends on whether the city officers stop these individuals, whether they arrest them. 00:15:37
During that time where they let him go. 00:15:43
And say, well, you have, you have a warrant, so. 00:15:45
Take care of it. 00:15:48
I don't know exactly what the Police Department does. You would have to talk to the the chief about it. 00:15:49
But that's the process that I've been following. 00:15:54
On this other matter, I'd be more than happy to discuss that with you and. 00:15:57
And that our offices and if you want to send the court administrator to meet with Donald I'd be more than happy to do it that way 00:16:01
instead of taking you out of the the loop as far because I know you have to be the judge and. 00:16:06
I think that's a different. 00:16:11
That's certainly we honor that but as far as the workings of the the court and the maintenance and and also. 00:16:12
We're talking, we're going to be talking about different remodeling going on. 00:16:19
We'd be more than happy to discuss your. 00:16:24
Your concern about background checks and who's actually working at your. 00:16:26
Court as a as a maintenance person. 00:16:31
I think certainly if they're in the office area itself is where you have a lot of sensitive stuff there, we understand that. 00:16:34
And if we can't come to terms with that, then we're going to have to go in a different direction, but. 00:16:40
If we can do a background check on whoever's doing the janitorial work there and he he passes, he passes the background check. 00:16:46
You'll be OK with that. 00:16:53
Yeah. 00:16:54
So I think that's what we have to work on. 00:16:55
So and like I said. 00:16:58
When I got this e-mail from you. 00:16:59
Mayor, I assume that was it. 00:17:02
And that's why I came before the City Council. 00:17:04
Well, it was it. But then I gave up. I gave. I gave it. 00:17:06
Well, we want to do that fairly when, when. 00:17:10
When I found out there was disorder here City Hall, then I was like, well then I'm I wanna question it. I wanna see what's fair. 00:17:13
But I will discuss it with you, Mayor, and we'll take it from there. Let's let's do that. 00:17:20
No, no. Yes Sir. Cause I'd like some clarification on what would constitute a. 00:17:24
A background check? That's acceptable, so. 00:17:28
Statute of limitations or. 00:17:31
Well, anything that would be criminal, that would possibly what we would have to see on somebody might take in somebody's 00:17:33
identity. 00:17:37
Your files, so we have. 00:17:41
We have files that. 00:17:43
You know. 00:17:45
Candidates supposed to be locked up, but then we have. 00:17:45
Files are exposed. 00:17:48
For the next day. 00:17:50
So we don't have those locked up, but anybody can walk through and do this. 00:17:51
And read the information or. 00:17:55
Nowadays with technology, are you going to do? 00:17:57
Do that. 00:18:00
And that's the way it works. It's pretty simple. 00:18:01
Then all the. 00:18:04
Identity theft cases I worked when I was in the State Police. 00:18:05
It's it's a pretty easy thing to do. All you need is. 00:18:09
Name. Date of birth? 00:18:11
Where do you live? And that's pretty much. 00:18:13
All you need. 00:18:16
But Mr. Monetti, I would like #1 if the Council wants to change the personnel policy, to have background checks on certain types 00:18:18
of people. 00:18:21
That work in the city, that's one thing. 00:18:25
Sensitivity of information. That's also at the City Hall. We have lots of sensitive information. 00:18:28
But the question would be. 00:18:34
As to what other courts are doing? 00:18:37
Because if that's certainly a special scenario. 00:18:39
When it comes to municipal and Magistrate and district courts. 00:18:42
So I I think what we're gonna have to do is maybe. 00:18:45
To see if there's a model that we can use. 00:18:47
And other towns that are that are municipal courts and see what they do. Maybe ask the officer the courts in Santa Fe. 00:18:50
And also what I was going by also Mary is the. 00:18:56
The paperwork that was given to me on the apparently on employment for. 00:19:00
In place for the city that says right here in yellow. The city will make perform references of background checks. 00:19:04
And that's up to you, of course, yes, but it's on here. 00:19:10
So. 00:19:12
And then quite get that is, what does it say this is a. 00:19:14
Opposed to our employees. 00:19:18
And this was given back in February 1st of 2023. 00:19:20
That anybody hired Trivia. 00:19:24
The city with a background check. 00:19:27
And and from what I understand. 00:19:30
The person that you may have a question about is not doing the custodial work there. Maintenance. 00:19:32
A custodian is somebody different. 00:19:36
And I think that's that's what I'll get that information to you. 00:19:39
And I think they won't have a trouble passing that background check OK. 00:19:42
I would just. 00:19:48
Into this. 00:19:50
Yeah, sure. Yeah. 00:19:51
Yeah. 00:19:53
OK. Thank you, dear. 00:19:54
Unless there's some comments with the council. 00:19:57
OK, Dave. 00:20:02
Spirits from ancient architects. We have a. 00:20:05
Presentation about possible. 00:20:09
Remodeling. 00:20:11
At the. 00:20:13
Spin the gym. 00:20:14
And I understand there's nothing that says family Jim on it right now, but. 00:20:17
I think she wants us to put up a sign cause people. 00:20:21
People don't know what that building is. 00:20:24
They know what that building there's been there forever, so we put. 00:20:26
Finally, Jim and Youth center we can. 00:20:30
Make everybody happy. 00:20:33
Hi everybody. My name is Dave Puritz with NCAA Architects. 00:20:36
And. 00:20:40
So we have an idea this evening of 1 potential solution to renovating the Finley Gym building. 00:20:43
And and we had met with a smaller committee. 00:20:51
And I think the next. 00:20:56
And correct me if I'm wrong, but the next thing to do was to present kind of what we were thinking to everyone. 00:20:58
So. 00:21:06
So on on the screen is the existing building we we actually went into the building and we measured. 00:21:07
The rooms and we have an accurate location of the. 00:21:16
Restrooms and all the rooms, so that is your existing facility currently. 00:21:20
Next slide please. 00:21:28
So the the area in pink is. 00:21:35
An area that we are proposing to demolish. 00:21:40
And turn into a. 00:21:45
A parking lot. 00:21:47
As well as an entry. 00:21:49
Into the courtyard. 00:21:52
It. 00:21:55
The the area of demolition is about 7200 square feet. 00:21:56
Umm. 00:22:02
But as you can see, the building would still retain quite a few of the existing spaces. 00:22:03
Next slide please. 00:22:11
So this this is sort of the. 00:22:13
The the new. 00:22:17
Laid out, there would be a parking lot in front. 00:22:19
Which could serve family gym, but it could also serve the library across the street. 00:22:23
Which I think would be a really nice thing. 00:22:29
Umm. 00:22:32
To the left of the parking lot there would be a cover a covered. 00:22:34
Portal. 00:22:41
And there would be an entry feature and then there would also be a gate. 00:22:42
And a ornamental fence. 00:22:48
That. 00:22:51
You know, after hours you could lock or if there was an activity going inside with. 00:22:53
See children that you wanted to keep them safe. At that particular time you could close the gate. 00:22:59
And it gives you. 00:23:05
What? What? What we think this does, is it really? 00:23:07
True, it really. 00:23:10
Allows you to use that. 00:23:12
Interior courtyard space that hasn't been used in a long time. 00:23:14
And we would, we would get our landscape architect to meet with. 00:23:19
The city of Socorro and identify different zones in there for whatever you guys might use it for. 00:23:23
He wanted an area where children could play or. 00:23:30
Some trees with some seeding underneath what whatever, whatever your vision for that area could be. 00:23:34
I think we could make it into a really beautiful, nice space. 00:23:41
And and then the. 00:23:46
Area in blue. 00:23:49
And then the area in pink we would. 00:23:52
Completely renovate that area, we would. 00:23:55
It's. 00:23:58
Uh. 00:24:00
We would provide new mechanical, new lighting. 00:24:02
Um, the hallways would need sheetrock on the on the walls. It's pretty rough in the hallways. 00:24:06
And new lighting. 00:24:14
We would get. We would get. 00:24:16
The building up to code up to a usable condition. 00:24:18
Umm. 00:24:23
And on the exterior we at the first phase of Finley Gym, we did some a lot of re stuccoing. 00:24:24
We would hope to restock all the existing facades. 00:24:33
Replace a couple windows on park. 00:24:38
You know and. 00:24:40
And then do some additional landscaping. 00:24:41
Umm. 00:24:46
Along McCutcheon. 00:24:47
So that is sort of. 00:24:49
Where we're at at the moment. 00:24:52
We think it's a viable way to proceed. 00:24:55
But we certainly. 00:25:00
Would value your your. 00:25:02
Input. 00:25:04
Councillor Dan. 00:25:07
Any comments since you were that the chair of this committee? Was I the chair? I didn't know I was the chair. Who was the chair? 00:25:08
You were the most vocal chair of the committee, No? 00:25:13
We had a lot of discussion. We had two meetings and. 00:25:18
And we all agreed that we really needed the parking. So I guess that's. 00:25:22
Pretty much why we agreed to demoing part of the building even though I really, really wanted to save the library space. But you 00:25:25
know. 00:25:29
It is what it is, but I I think I like I. 00:25:33
I like this idea. So now we have 2 spaces that could be anything we decide down the road. 00:25:36
Um, I and I do like the idea of being able to see the beautiful. 00:25:42
Patio from the street even, and it opens it up a lot. 00:25:47
And and I really appreciated. 00:25:52
Dave talking about, you know, trying to repurpose some of the some of the items that he's going to take down and maybe use it 00:25:56
somewhere else if it works out. 00:26:00
Mr. Fleming. 00:26:06
And they have on your parking lot will have how many spaces? 00:26:07
Approximately 15. 00:26:13
15. 00:26:15
1515 Not a lot. It's it's. 00:26:16
Mr. Fleming, we also have. 00:26:21
Possible. 00:26:24
To do something on the other side of Municipal Court. 00:26:26
Because that area is what the police officers and evidence room is being used for now. 00:26:30
That could also be demoed. 00:26:35
And turned into parking. 00:26:38
Because when you have a big event at the gym, there's no parking. 00:26:40
But this should develop more parking. But. 00:26:44
A million if you if you take out 7200 square feet. 00:26:46
At $100 a square foot. 00:26:50
You know you're you're actually still that's. 00:26:52
More, I know I'm just trying to be conservative, but if you do $300.00 score 200 dollars, $300.00 a square foot. 00:26:55
That would be we have $1,000,000 right now that Representative Artemio got us. 00:27:02
So we want to make sure that. 00:27:07
That amount of money. 00:27:09
Is spent and it makes an impact so that we don't have 1/2 done project. 00:27:11
So that I think this is a great compromise that the. 00:27:16
That the committee came up with is to do that. 00:27:20
And then I think the next step would be and we're looking into. 00:27:23
More monies for getting the Municipal Court rehabilitated. 00:27:26
And also and demoing everything South of that. 00:27:30
Where the mold and the the the terrible situation that the police officers are in right now. 00:27:33
You'll talk to your ex. 00:27:39
You know, junior high, basically. 00:27:42
The old junior high, basically, yeah, said We're going to save the Chief mosaic there. 00:27:44
We don't want to lose that. That's the one as you walk into Municipal Court. 00:27:51
Is there so we're we're gonna. 00:27:55
It'll still have the character of the old. The stack is still there. 00:27:57
From the old furnace and it still has the atmosphere of the old junior high high school. I guess that you went to, I don't know if 00:28:01
you. 00:28:05
If you guys weren't all went through it, yeah. And they'll still be in the middle of town and it's still will. I know people are 00:28:10
kind of. 00:28:13
Concerned that the rodeo and the convention centers out of town, but this will still be a a facility that's in town that could be 00:28:17
also be used. 00:28:21
So, Mr. Solomon. 00:28:28
They even loiter. Are there any things that may be salvageable from that 7200 square feet that? 00:28:30
Say for example a company would come in and and discard that saved. 00:28:37
Yeah. 00:28:44
Going through that an existing space, it appears that the roof joists. 00:28:45
And the wood deck are in really good shape. 00:28:50
It would be worthwhile to talk to a company like that and see what they would pay to. 00:28:54
Take all that material. 00:29:01
There is asbestos there, by the way. 00:29:03
So that's going to have to you know our our group, Mike and Mike Lucero and his group demoed the Sands Motel. 00:29:06
After it was abated. 00:29:14
And we have the capability of demoing it. 00:29:16
But we don't have the capability of cleaning up the advertisement. 00:29:19
So we're gonna be getting bits to get that done. 00:29:22
But I think there's a lot of savings there. 00:29:25
When it comes to demoing it and getting just the dirt work and everything's getting ready to. 00:29:28
Move into rehab and they're they're going to be putting a bathroom also where the pink area is. 00:29:33
A new bathroom? 00:29:38
So those facilities can be used for meeting rooms and things like that. 00:29:39
But that that, I think what we're asking is the council. 00:29:43
To if we can move ahead now with architectural. 00:29:46
If if you guys miss. 00:29:50
I just wanted to know if Peter or Mike wanted to add anything. 00:29:52
Covered everything. 00:29:56
So if if you make a motion to go ahead and start moving with architectural. 00:29:58
Ohh, just a quick question. So who's who's like gonna be responsible for that whole area like the? 00:30:04
Like I guess signing up using it, Is this all going to be tied to the rec department? 00:30:11
Charlie. 00:30:15
Like signing up and checking on it, making, yeah. And she obviously will have to get administrative staff to do it. 00:30:18
But Mr. Dean, well, I I think I don't know if we're even there yet because we haven't really fully decided what we're going to use 00:30:25
the space for. I think that's. 00:30:29
Later on we just wanted to get that money spent, get this part done. 00:30:33
And then kind of decide. 00:30:38
What the building's going to be used for. 00:30:39
But, but you got to have, you got to have some. 00:30:44
Administrative office that even though it's absolutely, I'm just saying the obvious person right now is going to be recreation. 00:30:46
You know? I know Chelsea was clapping because she's gonna get some more parking, but. But. 00:30:52
But yeah, I I think you know. 00:30:59
As a base. 00:31:03
If we're gonna have playground equipment and we're gonna have things that recreation there in the in the atrium. 00:31:04
I probably, I think she'll have ninety, 8090% of the. 00:31:10
Let's say as to what's going on there. For yoga, for Jim, for. For the use of. 00:31:14
Activities she has an after school program still going on so that. 00:31:19
I think, you know, there's people that want to use that facility will probably have to have. 00:31:24
And again, I always look at the budget because every time you expand. 00:31:28
You increase the budget. 00:31:31
Mr. Monnett, did you have a I was just gonna say again, Mr. Merritt, that that my civic app should be able to do reservations for? 00:31:33
The entire facility. Different rooms, classrooms. 00:31:40
And we also have funding for them to New Mexico dot to repave McCutcheon. 00:31:43
And Center St. We didn't get the money we needed, but we've got some, so we'll get started on that as well. Trying to time it with 00:31:48
the reopening of. 00:31:51
The facility. 00:31:56
And there was motion. 00:31:59
Now as you said, Mr. Ocampo wanted to finish and we would still be using the same existing like injury entry and exits. 00:32:02
Well, that that's the question because you see there's some huge HVAC units right there. 00:32:08
That you see in the green. 00:32:13
They're going to have to be, they're going to be have to be hidden by landscaping. 00:32:14
But then there is an entrance. Not not the one to the gym floor, but there is an entrance into that empty room that used the yoga 00:32:18
room that they'll be able to, I think, use, and we'll have to also control that entrance. 00:32:23
There's another interest that goes out the back way where the gym is, and we're going to have to control that one too, because 00:32:30
people tend to. 00:32:33
Take the easiest, like water, they just like to go wherever, the easiest way out, so we have to control all that. 00:32:36
But you're right. 00:32:41
And I think she is working on trying to get some video. 00:32:42
Video equipment put together. 00:32:45
For that area, but that would be an entrance. 00:32:47
But I but I think it will be a, I mean at the end it will be a facility that is very public friendly and. 00:32:51
And and usable for for the public and for different groups. 00:32:58
So. 00:33:02
Dave, do you have that artist rendition of what the thing would look like? 00:33:04
We do though that would be on the other PDF file. 00:33:08
Just so that councillors can, kind of. 00:33:13
Excuse me, that would be several pages forward. 00:33:16
Yeah, so something. 00:33:22
Something like that. 00:33:25
It's moved and seconded. Any other discussion? 00:33:29
It's exciting. I mean, it's exciting to see some of the new stuff that we can get done, but you just gotta keep throwing money at 00:33:32
it. 00:33:35
That's that's the other part of it. 00:33:39
All in favor. 00:33:42
So, David. So David Lloyd, we were talking about his. 00:33:44
Is. 00:33:47
Moving ahead with. 00:33:48
With your blueprint. 00:33:50
And. 00:33:52
Try to keep the cost down. 00:33:53
We want to make it through this session, so regarding costs. 00:33:58
Umm. 00:34:03
I think the best way to approach that is to break things out into pieces. 00:34:05
And then we can have a list. 00:34:10
And a cost. 00:34:12
And then a total and then you guys can prioritize. Yeah, it's just that the darn HVAC units. 00:34:13
You know, they end up our budget so much on that feeling. Yeah, that's like half 1,000,000 bucks. 00:34:22
Yeah. And and so we, you know the ticker on that though is the, the gym has the potential of having a lot of seats. Yeah. And 00:34:27
it's, yeah, makes space. 00:34:32
So what are you telling me? You're not gonna charge me that much? Issue as much. OK. 00:34:37
Well, good. I mean if you have split units or whatever but. 00:34:42
But I think. 00:34:45
We've got it. We've got to be able to show a finished product by the next legislative session. That's. 00:34:47
That's all I'm saying. 00:34:52
Because they like to see something done and finished it. 00:34:54
When we go back to ask for more money for this place. 00:34:56
I think they want to see something that the public actually is using. That's important. 00:34:59
Really important. 00:35:04
So, Mr. Hicks. 00:35:06
That seating. 00:35:09
When I was in high school, there sat all four classes in there. 00:35:11
Freshman, you know, all the way through from freshman seniors. 00:35:17
That little area there sat all of us in there. 00:35:21
But I don't know. Mr. Fleming had a radio station there too. 00:35:25
Here's the result. 00:35:28
So that's all in favor. OK. Thank you, Dave. Thank you, Lloyd. No, thank you. 00:35:32
Thank you Councillor Dean for. 00:35:38
Ohh and. 00:35:42
OK, we are next on to the Airport layout plan with the Narrative Report. 00:35:45
Mr. Mayor, it's true again. 00:35:51
I'll make a motion we approve the ONMAMP grant application I second. 00:35:52
I want to be seconded. 00:36:02
Unfair. 00:36:03
Ohh, that's absolutely. 00:36:06
But left out the discussion I thought was good. Done deal. 00:36:08
Go ahead. 00:36:11
Mr. Logan? No, I just have no. Is anybody gonna? 00:36:14
Thank you for putting that yours. 00:36:17
It's yeah, I have no trouble with it. 00:36:20
None of the CIP is shown to you and we moved. 00:36:24
The police departments. 00:36:28
Needs up the list. 00:36:31
To #1. 00:36:34
Councillor, Councillor, Representative Hamill. 00:36:36
Also came by and. 00:36:39
Coordinate. 00:36:41
She. 00:36:43
Recommended that we perhaps spend a million time to get a million. 00:36:44
And see if we can get a proper substation out of it. 00:36:49
So. 00:36:52
Don't you want to give us a? 00:36:54
Rundown of. 00:36:55
Little bit of description of some of these items. As you said, the police office remodeled the new one. 00:36:56
So I'll have to work on the description for that and Internet. 00:37:02
Into that at the 1,000,000 level. Old high school Remodel has been on for five or six years and as you can see from tonight, we're 00:37:06
making some improvements. 00:37:11
Sadil Park planning was mentioned a few times, but I changed that to improvements because we got $100,000 last year to start the 00:37:16
planning. 00:37:20
So I don't know if the committee wants to get together and maybe look at some or do an RFP for. 00:37:24
You know. 00:37:29
An architect to to design it or if we want to use our in-house engineers. 00:37:31
Cuba Rd. repaving and drainage. That's again the CDBG project, because eventually when we get the drainage working, we're going to 00:37:36
need to get to the railroad to get underneath, to get a culvert underneath it to get the water to the green ditch. 00:37:42
Dinner Skylark and Otero Fishery Paving There was a couple votes for. 00:37:50
General repaving, but the state doesn't let you do generally want specific streets. 00:37:55
And those were the ones that were on last year. 00:38:00
The MRTC bridge reconstruction, we have $350,000. I think we're down to three. 00:38:03
3:30 or 3:20. 00:38:10
Um, to design that and get it reconstructed. 00:38:12
We signed the task order last week with Dennis Engineering to start that their bid was or their quote was $106.00 in the previous 00:38:15
company was over 400,000 so. 00:38:20
Changing changing engineers helped us save $300,000. 00:38:26
Lopezville Rd. Repaving. That was the request from Terry Tadano That moved up. And the rest of the stuff is stuff that's been on 00:38:31
there for a while. Again, the Highway 60 turning lanes that should be covered in the Highway 60. 00:38:37
Project, so we could probably remove that or deactivate it. 00:38:44
16 and Bullock, Sorry, I skipped that one. That one needs to stay on there because we have about three years and four months. 00:38:48
Left on the deal with the Conservancy to continue putting. 00:38:56
The stormwater in their ditch so. 00:39:00
The Clean Water State Revolving Fund has actually already contacted me about that. 00:39:02
And we are supposed to receive the stormwater drainage report from this engineering this month. So once we get that. 00:39:06
We'll move forward with that project. 00:39:13
And get more details. 00:39:18
You want us to make a motion action, Mr. Mayor. I'm also requesting that the mayor that the it's not on this. 00:39:21
But we've met with the New Mexico Environment Department and the EPA to discuss Eagle Pitcher. 00:39:29
And we think that we should probably add that now because this will be due. 00:39:34
On the 18th of this month. 00:39:39
So even though this is how it ranked out, if the council would vote to amend this and include the Eagle pitcher solution. 00:39:42
It's kind of the the source problem and maybe some. 00:39:51
Water land issues, then I would, I would write something up for that one as well, but I think just let me give you a little 00:39:56
background on what's going on there. 00:40:00
You know, we've got $20 million to clean up Eagle picture over the next decade. 00:40:05
They have now come to the conclusion. 00:40:09
That they're gonna do dirt work out there. 00:40:12
At the building site. 00:40:14
That's going to be starting. I don't know if they've already started here this week or they're going to be here next week. 00:40:16
But the big problem is the TCe. 00:40:21
In the water. 00:40:24
And that plume. 00:40:25
That plume will be then pump. 00:40:27
Pumped out. 00:40:30
To remove the T CE by a filtration system. 00:40:31
That well, that will be placed. 00:40:34
Is on the corner of Lopezville. 00:40:37
And Newberry. 00:40:40
You know that corner that when you go you straight, there's a. 00:40:42
Guys selling houses and ranches, then you take a right and then you go to Newbury Pond. There's a place that they're gonna put the 00:40:46
well. 00:40:49
That well will be producing. 00:40:53
2000 gallons, 200,200 thousand gallons. 00:40:56
Or what? 00:41:02
Of water, a day, a day. 00:41:02
200,000 gallons of water a day. 00:41:05
Home. 00:41:07
That water. 00:41:08
Has three ways to be treated. 00:41:10
One of the ways is to put it back into the aquifer. 00:41:12
Too expensive, they say. 00:41:16
The second way. 00:41:19
Was to put it in our sewer system. 00:41:20
Too much water? 00:41:22
We only treat we this is 200,000 a day. You know our capacity is 1,000,000 gallons. 00:41:23
So that's not doable. The next thing is kind of an exciting thing. 00:41:30
Is to put the water. 00:41:35
In Newberry Pond. 00:41:37
And. 00:41:40
And they were here last week. We had a. 00:41:41
Two day meeting with them. 00:41:44
And they would help us develop it as a recreation site. 00:41:45
I don't know if anybody's been to Santa Rosa. 00:41:49
But. 00:41:51
They have the lakes out there. 00:41:52
Their water toys, they have swan boats, they have all kinds of things. 00:41:54
That site has a has a chance of developing into that. 00:41:59
So. 00:42:03
They will help us. 00:42:04
With Landscape Architects. 00:42:06
And. 00:42:08
People that do economic development. 00:42:09
To develop that. 00:42:12
Colon. 00:42:14
Into a. 00:42:15
Recreation facility for weekend camping for day camping. 00:42:16
For picnicking and so forth. 00:42:21
The kicker is. 00:42:25
The city doesn't own it. 00:42:26
So we don't, we don't own that pun. 00:42:28
We haven't. We're in discussions to buy it. 00:42:31
Matter of fact, we're just having it appraised. 00:42:34
So. 00:42:37
That's where we're headed with this. 00:42:39
And. 00:42:41
In order to pay for it. 00:42:43
Well, I have some ways to pay for it, but I'm asking them to pay us to dump the water into that pond. 00:42:45
So if there's more revenue coming from that, that'll amortize into painful. 00:42:52
So and it'll amortize into. 00:42:56
Making into a kind of a garden spot. You got water there. 00:42:59
And make it into and the people who came out here are going to. 00:43:02
Help us do that. 00:43:06
At their cost. 00:43:08
This is the the contractors from the EPA, so that's why we're asking to. 00:43:09
Have this project placed on the I CIP. 00:43:14
It will make us, or it will allow us, to work with the EPA. 00:43:18
To continue this $20 million project. 00:43:23
That's the background on it. 00:43:27
So, Mr. Mayor, there is an IC IP resolution that needs to be voted on so in the motion that whoever makes the motion to put. 00:43:31
In their forms, in the top ten. I mean that, you know, as long as it's in the top 10 or top five is all we're asking. Yes, Sir. 00:43:39
Ohh. 00:43:42
So we want to do that now, our next meeting? No, no. 00:43:46
There's no move second, Mr. Romero. So the discussion basically is that we're going to be moving the, the acquisition of the 00:43:49
Newberry Pond. 00:43:53
Into the. 00:43:58
Top five of the IC IP list and have to be the top but. 00:43:59
Being a top. 00:44:03
All in favor, aye. 00:44:04
Thank you. I mean is, is, is that enough an explanation or any of that the other thing that we've also been asked? 00:44:07
Is and they're going to help us with that is that once they clean up the. 00:44:14
The building. 00:44:17
And they're going to do asbestos cleanup. They're on their. 00:44:19
Dime. 00:44:22
And I don't know if you've been there, but across the street also where the gun ranges. 00:44:23
There's some buildings that are given squashed down. 00:44:27
Because it basically fell down. 00:44:30
They're going to clean that up. 00:44:31
But. 00:44:33
When we can get that cleaned up, we can perhaps. 00:44:34
And they'll help us sell it. 00:44:38
As an economics economic development site, perhaps you know the big warehouses they're building in Los Lunas. 00:44:40
And and they have connections that people do that kind of thing for. 00:44:46
For Superfund sites. 00:44:50
So that slide could be made into a. 00:44:52
Warehouse or Distribution can be used for residential. 00:44:56
It can be made into a distribution site. 00:44:59
And we know that the highway department. 00:45:02
Has those boxes. 00:45:05
Off the Interstate on their list to have them redone. 00:45:07
Just like the delimiter. 00:45:11
You know, there's the exit and entrance. 00:45:13
Who? You know, they're they're basically the last box culverts in the state. 00:45:15
And so I I think. 00:45:20
Our our consultant told us that the highway department is doing the 2nd scoping. Yes Sir, for for that and so that. 00:45:21
That exit entrance can be made into one that's very easy on easy off for somebody who develops a. 00:45:29
Distribution center. 00:45:35
So that's another thing that we're working on. 00:45:37
And part of the plans from that highway department is to lengthen the off ramps and on ramps in that interchange because I think 00:45:39
they're going to work on San Antonio too. Well that that's a bad place too. 00:45:44
They're going to be working on that one. 00:45:49
Anyhow, that's. 00:45:51
Most of my story. 00:45:53
Ohh. 00:45:55
Any new business. 00:45:56
All business. 00:46:00
And I I don't know if you guys got the list of all the projects that we're doing. 00:46:02
And and. 00:46:07
Make sure if you have any questions please. 00:46:09
I'm gonna read. 00:46:12
Renew that information for you. 00:46:14
And with this. 00:46:17
Super one side they hadn't. I don't think I'd given you that information. 00:46:19
Hwy. 60, the Highway 60 Spring St. project. 00:46:22
We had a. 00:46:27
Another zoom meeting with the with the architects or the engineers doing that? 00:46:28
There will be a public. 00:46:34
Hearing in August. 00:46:36
That's what it was actually supposed to be in July, but so now we're hoping for August, and the alternatives have to do with 00:46:39
making it a. 00:46:42
Four Lane Rd. All the way to the Magdalena Bridge or the bridge going to Magdalena. 00:46:45
Pedestrian traffic. 00:46:50
Also side roads. 00:46:53
And also the big event that's happening over there, the school is going to be putting a new. 00:46:56
Junior high out there. Saracino evidently moving out there. 00:47:01
And I'm, I just thought I I'm, I'm across the street from the charter school. 00:47:06
I know what drop off, drop off and pickup is like. 00:47:10
I know what's happened in sheriff's, you know, I don't know. 00:47:14
I think the chief was telling me when school started. 00:47:16
That's serious. You know it was. 00:47:21
It was kind of a. 00:47:22
A circus. So I hate to have that happen on Hwy. 60, So that needs to be also developed with the help of this. And they've been 00:47:24
meeting with the school system. 00:47:27
So all that is happening, Hwy. 60 is gonna get redone. 00:47:32
Right now we're just in the plans of it. We hope that everybody gets involved with it. 00:47:36
That that feels that you know they need. 00:47:40
Get get in with it. 00:47:42
The other big project project is still going on and I know there's a lot of problems. I've had a lot of problems with my hotel. 00:47:44
With the. 00:47:50
With the boring and everything. And I know everybody's upset about that. I'm upset about it. 00:47:51
But this is a big step forward. I mean, as far as getting broadband. So please put up with it, make sure I know. I've had people 00:47:56
ask me, well, who do I call? Call Polo. 00:48:00
If you have, if you have complaints. 00:48:07
Because we need to make those complaints. 00:48:10
Knowing to the CDC, who's putting in the the boring? 00:48:13
And that boring is is like one of those what's that movie called the worms that that that they well I think they hit my electrical 00:48:17
out there and my lights my my sign is dead and. 00:48:21
So but. 00:48:26
Have to put up with it because it's going to be a big step forward for the city. 00:48:27
So that's that and they. 00:48:31
I understand they have 1000 people pre registered. I don't know if you were there at the this weekend and they had the. 00:48:33
Pop up event. 00:48:39
But they've got 1000. 00:48:40
The only thing is, I talked to the guy who's putting them in the little pedestals. 00:48:42
He does 8A day. 00:48:45
So, and I don't know how many people they have out there doing this. 00:48:48
But if you take A today and there's 1000 to be done. 00:48:52
That's gonna take awhile. But, you know, but they're they're doing it. They're they're getting that we're going to have broadband, 00:48:55
which we've been dying for, for ages and ages. 00:48:59
So that's the other big project that's going on, the. 00:49:03
The EPA Superfund. 00:49:08
And the and then of course you've got a lot of St. projects that are coming online. 00:49:10
Right now and I and I think. 00:49:14
Councillor Ocampo. 00:49:19
That that remodel for the City of Park, the money we got. 00:49:20
Have you been having Marianne, have you been having meetings about that? 00:49:24
Ohh no. 00:49:28
Councillor Ocampo was out. 00:49:30
So we're going to have a meeting on Monday, OK. So, so that's $100,000 to try to get a company that will. 00:49:32
And like I said, Sites Southwest is doing Escondido. 00:49:38
And and so you that that's a company that's gonna be in this area and they do landscaping and things like that but I think we need 00:49:41
to meet to try to I know we haven't got the money yet but those those grants will be coming out So we want to make sure we're 00:49:46
ready to give out that we're we're ready to meet with them on that. 00:49:52
We were also, we were going to meet earlier, but. 00:49:58
We're waiting for new athletic director at the schools and we have one so now. 00:50:01
We're all gonna meet together. Ohh perfect. So. So get that done. 00:50:05
The. 00:50:08
So everybody, yeah, so get that done. And then as you know, there's going to be the chili taste off coming up in September. 00:50:09
The big County Fair is coming up. 00:50:15
And we're gonna have a meeting on September. 00:50:17
18th. 00:50:21
That's 18th September 18th at the Convention Center. 00:50:24
With the school board. 00:50:28
With the hospital board. 00:50:29
And hopefully tech. 00:50:31
To give them our presentation of the electrical utility. 00:50:33
As to we're going to have all the people from people from Kit Karshan who have already gotten one. 00:50:37
And other people from Denver, Co. 00:50:41
We're going to be helping us put it together and we've got Finley consultants that are putting in the substation, so put that on 00:50:44
your list if you, if you would like to perhaps we maybe have to advertise that if all the councillors come. 00:50:49
But we're going to have and we'll invite the public to hear what the. 00:50:55
Cities gonna do as far as the electric utilities concert time on the 18th. 00:50:58
It's probably 530. It was when the school board of the school has their meeting, so we'll have it at 5:30. 00:51:03
At the Convention Center Convention Center. 00:51:10
Right, Desiree and Chan. 00:51:13
Ruby. 00:51:16
Full on the water meters. I'm gonna apologize because the misinformation was given. So it's not 400 meters out, that's about 152 00:51:19
to date has been replaced. 00:51:23
And I just wanted to let you know that when a meter register goes out, the meter still runs. 00:51:27
So it could be put on a manual list for a reread. If we can't get the reread done, then we go ahead and estimate that we don't 00:51:32
estimate every reading. 00:51:36
That we if we can't get somebody out to check it. 00:51:40
And if we estimate one month, we don't. 00:51:43
We usually check it, but Miss O'Neill, unfortunately she fell through the cracks and she went ten months. So I just wanted to let 00:51:46
you know that just because the register goes out, the meter still runs and we can still get a reading. 00:51:51
I don't know if any of you have any questions about that. 00:51:57
Why? 00:52:01
Well, the book starts with me. I'm, I'm sorry I didn't we. 00:52:04
I think you know we we need to be more proactive with that and. 00:52:07
That's that's that's where we were. 00:52:10
Thank thanks for the update, but the the. 00:52:12
Groceries. He still seems to be holding up. 00:52:16
Where we used to be at the 300,000, we're at the 550,000 number. So that's been that's been very good. 00:52:19
I don't know if there's any questions. 00:52:29
There was a post, I guess on Facebook about. 00:52:32
Some cones in front of a business that they've been there for over a month. 00:52:36
I saw those going 60. I I got. I saw that. 00:52:41
There's a little bit of misinformation. It was in front of the old Pizza Inn. 00:52:44
And number one, that that that is a highway. 00:52:49
Mr. State Highway. 00:52:52
We have no jurisdiction on sidewalks or the road there. 00:52:54
And I don't know, I think those those those comments probably belong to CES. 00:52:59
They're not sitting and if they're disturbing the sidewalk. 00:53:04
That's. 00:53:08
That's something the state highway department because we have we have no ability to work on that road. 00:53:09
And and I know. 00:53:15
I saw a range of risk making a big thing out of it. 00:53:16
But the city has no no jurisdiction on that on that road. 00:53:19
And I think that just as a friendly thing we can follow, we can talk to CC about those cones that have been sitting there. There, 00:53:23
you know, we know where the old Pizza Inn was. 00:53:28
Yeah, kind of that crap that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I I saw that and I. 00:53:33
I was gonna say something, but I you know me in Facebook, I don't get along with anyone so I'd rather say it here but that. But 00:53:38
that's that that was a that that's a Spring Street is Hwy. 60 is not our jurisdiction. 00:53:44
And that. 00:53:51
Spring is I can make it. 00:53:53
All right. Any anything from the? 00:53:57
Department directors there so kindly stay. 00:54:01
For us. 00:54:04
No, yes. 00:54:06
That's all right. 00:54:08
Hi councillors and Mayor, I just wanted to let you guys know that we're going to have the community yard sale happening. 00:54:12
On August 19th. So if you know anybody that wants to sign up for that UM, send them our way. And we'll also be bringing back hot 00:54:18
August nights. 00:54:22
So that'll be on August 26th, the evening of August 26th. 00:54:27
We are looking for vendors for that, so. 00:54:32
Send them away. 00:54:34
I guess I got a question. 00:54:35
There was a question about tables and chairs. 00:54:38
Do you have those for the Convention Center? 00:54:41
We have tables and chairs. How many do you have? 00:54:43
We have enough to host 300 people on that. Yeah, so, so. 00:54:46
Is. You need to borrow some. 00:54:52
Well, no, we're planning to Coral Fest. I mean, do you want those chairs like being hauled off back and forth or should we buy a 00:54:54
separate batch for events? 00:54:58
That are folding chair what you want to do. 00:55:03
Yeah, we probably need to buy more tables and just like white. 00:55:05
Plastic table chairs. Metal. Yeah, just plastic metal chairs. 00:55:09
The metal folding chairs and the white. 00:55:15
Resource for that. 00:55:18
You want 20. 00:55:20
What do you say? 00:55:22
So what have you got? Have you guys been talking? 00:55:23
What we had is corpus meeting today and that's why this came out. Yeah, I got, I got it. We used to have like 100 on text. 00:55:26
We used to have like 100 chairs in that trailer that we used for events, and she's down to like 25 and then like just disappeared. 00:55:33
Yeah, over over the last. So, so in that trailer that we have is that the tourism, We have about 60 chairs and five tables now. So 00:55:41
those are used for all of them. You want to replenish some of that, Yes. OK. 00:55:48
The budget must let's look and see if we can get the money to do that, OK? 00:55:55
And then can you tell us when the last day is to sign up for the parade? 00:56:00
Or the parade at the last day is August 25th. 00:56:05
Yes. 00:56:09
What We're also signing up right entry entries for County Fair Parade. 00:56:10
So. 00:56:15
Yeah. 00:56:15
And are you doing any with the chili? 00:56:16
Batalon. 00:56:19
I am doing it. You're doing it. OK, so that's all good. 00:56:20
Yeah, yeah. So I'm participating. Lloyd is setting up the tent, helping us with the tables and chairs that we do have. 00:56:23
And then the the coral, striders and writers are. 00:56:30
Helping organize all kinds of things going on and they want those lights on at 4:30 in the morning, yes. 00:56:33
I know Oscar and Lloyd aren't here, but they need to know that. 00:56:39
Yeah, yeah, I've been talking with Boyd about that. So I think you have really good stuff guys. 00:56:42
Say. 00:56:48
Steve, he's been awesome at the rodeo. 00:56:49
Grounds for us. Thank you, Steve. Steve done. 00:56:52
That you that chase me today? 00:56:56
In the golf cart or the Gator Gator? 00:56:59
Yeah, he's on it. But thank you and thank you for allowing us to use the royal arena. Ohh, that's it's so great to have people 00:57:02
there. 00:57:05
You know the the other thing is we're working on an entrance to the RV park from the Convention Center. 00:57:09
We're going to try to get our engineers to get with dot, who kind of giving us mixed signals. 00:57:15
But we can. We'll be able to, once we get the sign and everything. 00:57:21
I get some revenue out of that. 00:57:24
So I also need to mention some Coral Fest is on September 16th so. 00:57:27
After the Korean War was hard August nights. 00:57:32
September 16th. 00:57:36
That was just for my benefit. 00:57:38
OK, very good. Thank you. Anybody else? 00:57:41
OK. 00:57:45
And we shall go on to executive session. 00:57:47
Nada. 00:57:52
And then we have, you know. 00:57:53
And. 00:57:57
The landfill. 00:57:57
I'm upgrading their salaries to keep these people. 00:57:59
Working with us. 00:58:04
That's just plain and simple. So I'm increasing their salaries for retirement if they'll give me another five years or 3 1/2 00:58:06
years. 00:58:10
And that's just what we're doing here when you look at the sanitation director, the manager, compliance officer. 00:58:15
Equipment operator two and station sanitation driver Foreman. 00:58:21
The The solid waste is in the black. 00:58:25
The landfill is not. 00:58:29
But the landfill is the center of our. 00:58:31
Existence when it comes to trash. 00:58:35
And. 00:58:37
Mike Lucero and Roy Baca and that group and is burnt on this also. 00:58:38
You know, are about ready to retire. 00:58:46
I need them to continue. 00:58:49
And as you know, in your businesses, you try to keep the people that are working and doing a good job. 00:58:51
Working in and I that's what I'm trying to give them a bump. 00:58:57
And that's that's where that is. 00:59:00
Mr. Mayor, Mr. Rammell, who do approve the personnel changes as read second. 00:59:03
Moved and seconded discussion. 00:59:09
All in favor? Aye. Thank you, Council. 00:59:14
Have the personnel changes as you got here. We've got Mike landfill from 66 to 68 right back up from 56 to 60. 00:59:18
Julio Peguero from 45 to 49, David Montoya 45 to 49, and Bert Burrow and these guys have been with us forever. 00:59:28
And you've done a great job in keeping us together. He goes to 44 to 48. 00:59:36
Any motion to accept that? I know you accept. 00:59:43
Mr. Salami moved and seconded, all in favor. 00:59:46
OK. And now we've got businesses double bubble. 00:59:50
Randy and Kate Taurus, car wash here in Solutions. 00:59:53
Mike Michelle Heron, Mental and Behavioral Health. 00:59:57
Hot dogs, You know. Jason and Jeff Powell. Food Service. 01:00:00
We've got Malloy Ford, Malloy Chevrolet. 01:00:04
Chrysler Jeep, Dodge Ram. They're going to be coming to Rodeo Dr. When dizzy. 01:00:07
One of the one of the car people coming to or maybe Steve knows. 01:00:15
Huh. 01:00:22
It's going to be they're going to bring all their cards. That's why they're here. 01:00:24
At the rodeo for people to look at him. Ohh fail failed. OK, so that's why they're here. This is why you see all these there. It's 01:00:27
not like. 01:00:31
They're all gonna open up a car dealership in town. 01:00:35
But that that's what these are for And Costello Bjorn transient vendor with. 01:00:39
Patricia Tyrone Crafts. 01:00:46
That's correct. 01:00:49
The next motion will create the business registration that's presented. 01:00:50
Moved to second, when is it? 01:00:54
December 3rd. 01:00:55
September 30th, they'll have all their cars there. The people come. 01:00:56
Yeah. 01:01:00
All in favor, aye. 01:01:02
Thanks, Steve. 01:01:04
All right, this is the next City Council, August 15th. 01:01:05
Thank you. Thank you everybody. Thank you. 01:01:10
Thank you, directors. 01:01:12

I'll rise for the Pledge of Allegiance. 00:00:22
